The rooms are well apointed and have large windows throughout the room. The property has a beutiful non denominational chapel on property. The staff was very friendly and would go out of there way to make sure your stay is an enjoyable one. WiFi is very slow.

We found this resort to be absolutely beautiful. The ground and physical plant are beautiful and relaxing. The spa services are nice and the food is excellent. Great attentive staff. I would be happy to return there anytime.

Stayed here 2 nights around trip to Machu Picchu with my brother and his wife. Loved the grounds, chapel, llamas and food. Breakfast was the best we had in Peru during our 12 day trip. Spa and hot rock massage are top notch. My wife and I spent 5 hours there on our first day acclimatizing to the altitude change from states. Great service and locale.

My husband and I had a horrible travel experience getting to this resort but once we got there our vacation improved immensely. The spa at this resort is wonderful and so is the staff at the restaurant. Every request was answered with a smile, and a yes we can attitude Definitely will stay there again.

Room Tip: Definitely upgrade to the casitas

Beautiful and amazing hotel in the middle of nowhere. Rooms were spacious and lovely. Our room had a patio overlooking lovely gardens and pond. The hotel had everything on the property as you weren't going anywhere in the evening. There was a movie theater, spa, beautiful pool, good restaurants and lounge. Have some great pica of the resident alpacas too.

This hotel is located in Urubamba within the Sacred Valley and it’s about 1 ½ hour’s drive away from Cuzco.

The location itself is ideal as it’s nearer to Ollantaytambo (about an hour’s drive away from the hotel). That’s where you will take a 1 hour train ride to Aguas Calientes, the base town to Machu Picchu, and then hop into a bus straight to Machu Picchu).

Being only 8000ft above sea level, it’s easier to acclimatize here as the effects of the high altitude here is lesser than in Cusco, which is 12,000ft above sea level. However, some of us in the group initially felt some discomfort and slight headache but recovered after a short while. So, keep yourself hydrated and keep your walking (or climbing) at a steady and comfortable pace without exerting yourself too much.

You certainly would be awed and impressed when you arrive here – extensive and beautifully landscaped gardens (with breath-taking views of the Andean mountains). It comes with a beautifully restored 17th century chapel on an island within a lake, stone bridges, manicured gardens, a small zoo with llamas and a lovely peacock. There are outdoor pools and jacuzzis to enjoy the views of the Andean mountains.

The hotel buildings are hacienda-like and influenced by Spanish and Peruvian architecture with courtyards and fountains. The room itself is spacious and the bed comfortable enough. Bathroom is well equipped and comes with a Jacuzzi and separate shower room / WC room – the only complaints were that the water temperature for the shower was difficult to control (the temperature goes from normal to scalding for a few seconds and then back to normal again) and like many other places in South America, you have to get used to disposing your used toilet paper in the waste bin, and not in the WC.

Service from the staff was good and friendly. Free wifi is available in the hotel lobby area.

Breakfast was reasonable - Continental type with lots of cold meats, cheeses and pastries. They also provide Coca tea, which is suppose to help overcome the symptoms of altitude sickness. It opens at 5am as most guests would leave for Machu Picchu very early in the morning.

Being relatively isolated, we had dinner at the hotel but the meal itself wasn’t exceptional.

I would recommend the UNNO Spa. Although pricy, you will get a unique experience and ambience with a good variety of packages using traditional Peruvian herbs and techniques.
There’s also a basic gym for those who dare to work-out out at such an high altitude.

Complimentary bottled waters (2 bottles) are provided daily. You need to pay for additional bottles and its very pricy. So do stock up on water when you are in town.

A truly unique and memorable experience in Sacred Valley.

Room Tip: Try to get rooms with the view of the Andean mountains. If you are not too mobile, get the rooms on...
