The grounds are gorgeous and being on the river wonderful. But the prices for everything don't take into account that you are in Peru, where things cost less. Also there is a 10% service charge on the entire bill, yet you are still expected to tip.

The pool was not heated and the spa is in the reception room on the Spa, not at all private and the spa on the deck has leaves in its bottom. One day the groundskeepers didn't even bother removing the plastic covers from the chaise lounges which are beautifully located out on the grass.

We found the food suited to the mostly stuffy suits who were staying there--the usually delicious Peruvian dishes muted so as to be inoffensive.

The staff were kind and helpful but disorganized. Just as an example, we ordered a bottle of (overpriced) wine; our server came by with a different bottle and explained they were out of the other and would we like to switch. We said yes that would be fine--but instead of leaving it she walked away with the bottle and we didn't see her again until after about ten minutes we asked another server about the wine. We just got the feeling the place was not being managed by an experienced hotel manager.

My wife and I and two other couples stayed here for one night as part of our tour of the Sacred Valley. Our only regrets are that we got there late, left early the next day and were only there one night. The rooms were spacious and very well appointed with gorgeous views of the valley and Andes. Service was excellent and the restaurant and bar were top notch. If you book a stay, arrive early enough in the day to enjoy it. The hotel is managed by Belmond which is renamed from Orient Express. The hotel lives up to the expectations you may anticipate given the Orient Express name.

This resort was excellent! The room was very luxurious, bathroom was very modern, shower with glass, feels like you're outside. Has a balcony with nice views of the river. The breakfast had nice fruits, cereals, pastries and then there's a small menu to order eggs and pancakes from. Very nice... We had dinner here once and it was very tasty, make a reservation as it was quite busy. We used the spa, sauna and jacuzzi are included with your stay, but we had a massage which was fabulous!

Stayed 2 days during our trip to this region. Had a junior suite. The view from the walk-out was breathtaking, with river running directly behind the hotel. I would highly recommend this hotel for the food and service, as well as the location.

The hotel and service was incredible. The hotels architecture and construction material blended perfectly with the natural surroundings and the rooms were perfectly set along the river bank. The indoor/outdoor shower was fantastic morning and evening. The service was impeccable, the view from the restaurant was beautiful. Nothing more coould have been done to make or visit any better.
