This was my second stay here. This is a bare bones basic hotel with not much. It costs about $50 (US) a night for a double bed with bathroom, and the gentleman who runs it is very nice. The hotel is very quiet at night, so sleep is no problem. Its far enough away from the train station and the busy areas to keep the noise levels down. However, that's about it. No amenities, except WI-FI. Tea/coffee and fruit/bread is available for breakfast upon request. After checkout, we were also able to store our bags while we went to Machu Picchu. If you need a place to lay your head, this is the place. If you want more, go someplace else.

Room Tip: Get an outside (street facing) room, they have windows.

It's not fancy, it's not new. But looking at hotel prices in AC, this one stood out because it was $30 for a single with bathroom attached, plus breakfast and free WiFi. Booked on booking.com -- my friends stayed at a nearby place for $50-60 and their hotel ran out of hot water. This small hotel has individual hot water machine above the shower head that you switch on; so you never "run out" like many of the more expensive places do.
The rooms mostly face an interior stairway/courtyard; while this may not give "fresh air" from outside, it also insulates you from the street noise of AC--people, animals, etc. It was very quiet on the night I stayed, and I slept well.
It's very clean.
The older woman at the Inka House was there when I arrived and was friendly, though she spoke little English--I speak Spanish. Even with a little Spanish you'll be OK.
Because it's a small place, she prepares breakfast for you--some local bread, jam, butter, coffee or tea. Very simple but fine with me. She asked me what time I wanted breakfast; I said 6:30. At 6:25am I got up to the cute rooftop/covered breakfast area and she had already laid out my whole breakfast, waiting for me.
At check out I asked if I could leave my bag; no problem and she was there at the time I promised to come back.
Remember--it's more like a hostel but there is nothing for $30 that's this quiet with guaranteed hot water in Aguas Calientes. Paying more in AC may not guarantee you a better place. I recommend Inka House!

Room Tip: Inside rooms are quieter than streetside rooms.

We enjoyed our stay here. People were very helpful. Very clean rooms. Breakfast was ok. We really liked the fact that the hotel was away from the train tracks, as a lot of people complained about the noise from these.
The hotel has a good shower and plenty of hot water. Highly recommend to stay here before you get to Machu Pichu.
They picked us up from the train station. We arrived quite late. Almost midnight as the train was running late.
