“Hidden Retreat in the Sacred Valley”
Reviewed 26 March 2014

What a perfect place to rest and soak up the Sacred Valley environment. The casitas were beautifully appointed with comfortable beds, sizable bathrooms, kithchen, a cozy fireplace , and unsurpassed views of the Andes. I am a birder and enjoyed the many hummingbirds and other passerines in the gardens and forest. I suggested to Marko that he might introduce hummingbird feeders and better marked trails to attract, not only birds, but more naturalists who I believe would love the area. Marko and Lissette worked hard to make our stay most enjoyable.
Peruvians everywhere are so friendly and seemingly happy. Taxis, or mountain bikes, to surrounding towns and sights are necessary but reasonable. Do not miss a day trip to Ollantaytmbo.

Room Tip: We had a two floor casita which had beautiful decks on the main and second floor for sitting with a...

I decided to stay at Sacred Dreams for a couple of days after my trek to Machu Picchu, thinking it would be nice to get away somewhere quiet for a bit. I didn´t realize just how quiet - I was the only guest in the place and they put me at the very top of the hill...52 steps (yes, I counted).

The room and grounds are very pretty, but you have to take a s30 round-trip taxi to get anywhere, and Urubamba city isn´t particularly interesting, though the views of the mountains and glaciers are great. The beds were extremely comfortable, and rooms are spacious and clean.

I think this is a good place for a couple or a group, but definitely NOT for a solo traveler. The food is also extremely expensive, though tasty. I had Lomo Saltado for $20 at the Lodge, got to Cusco and got the same thing for s5. Just be aware of these things before you book.

All the staff were very, very nice.

Dear visitor thanks for your review,
In fact we enjoy having you in our hotel, even tough you were the only one in that time
( a large group arrived the time you left)we enjoy very much having you as the the only quest
we gave you a Nice room (according your paymente) with the great view to the mountains
(in fact all our rooms are in the mountains) the food here is so delicious and all our pasengers love them, the price is average of the most asked restaurants in the sacred valley
One lomo saltado for S/.5.00 (be aware you are not having beef for that price)
we suggest our guests to go hiking, cayaking, mountain bike, back horse riding or visitin the historical places arround our hotel and give all facilities the ones who would like to do those places and activities but is up to them if they accept or not, the taxi prices are about USD5.00 which is not expensive coming from town.
any how thank you for your visit, please next time come with a friend or somebody else.

Lovely lodge. A little out of the way-you need to take a taxi everywhere which is no problem as the hotel arranges it. Mark, the manager when out of his way to drive us to Cusco when we checked out. Food was very good but a limited selection, perhaps because it was off season.
We stayed in a standard room-bathroom was beautiful. Nights are chilly but we were given space heaters and alpaca blankets. Staff was attentive with the exception of no breakfast offered
on our way to Machu Pichu. Would recommend.

This hotel is lovely! It is surrounded by beautiful nature, tall trees, green mountains & blue sky. There is an area with a hammock where you can relax and hear the water from the canal. Our room had a fireplace, and it was really nice to light it up at nights, although they also have heaters. The hotel is decorated with a lot of wood and the typical style of Sacred Valley. The buffet breakfast was always ready very early, i specially loved the local fruit, the jams & fresh baked bread! It also has wifi so we were able to stay connected, and our room didn't have a tv which i actually liked very much because we enjoyed the outdoor nature, we sat on the balcony, walked around, etc. If you love nature, this hotel is for you!

Room Tip: Choose a room with a jacuzzi or a fireplace , definitely very nice to light the chimney at night!

This hotel had everything we could ask for. It was quiet, beautiful, in a great location, and the staff was wonderful. Sure you can go in town and (maybe) find a better deal...but you will not find a better hotel or have a better experience. I specifically chose this hotel since it was a little drive to town. The staff was really patient with our limited Spanish using Google translate sometimes to communicate. (Remember, you are in their country!). Although the menu was limited on food selection, the meals were unbelievably delicious. The staff were always quick to provide assistance with arranging transportation and even helped with carrying heavy luggage. For our experience, there was nothing to complain about. I usually do not give top ratings but this hotel far exceeded all of our expectations. If we travel this way again, we'll definitely stay at Sacred Dreams Lodge.

Room Tip: We stayed during the non-peak season. Although being the start of the rainy season; days were sunny...
