Gorgeous grounds. Wonderful service. Fabulous 2 bedroom rented home. Patient and kind driver service. I couldn't ask for more. They will even ship our luggage to our next hotel following our Macchu Pichu hike.

Had a wonderful stay at Kuychi Rumi earlier this year. Went for a weeklong first time trip to Peru with my boyfriend in March. This was our first stop on the trip. Prior to arriving, Rodrigo had helped set up many things for us such as transportation from airport, daily tours, buying our train tickets, and Machu Picchu tickets. This made the trip much easier, as once we arrived, it seemed like we didn't have to worry about much. We were met at the airport by driver with a sign and taken to Kuychi Rumi. 2 story bungalows were so spacious and clean. Bathroom was small, but clean and expected. Had a problem with our shower draining, which was fixed the same day. Bedrooms were cold, but heaters for each room were provided. Beautiful fireplace in our place, and they came to help us light it since we were unsuccessful on our own :)
We originally had planned to drive around and tour our first day, however, we were exhausted on arrival, and Rodrigo smartly suggested that we rest first and then do a half-day tour later on in the day. Again, he was so flexible helpful and accommodating in arranging the tours for us. We did a 1/2 day trip to Ollantaytambo. The next day, we went to Pisac and Pisac Market. 3rd day - we were then taken to the train station to go to Machu Picchu. Rodrigo let us store our luggage with them since we could not take it on the train. After Machu Picchu, we took train back and again were met by the driver. We came and picked up our luggage and then took us to a few more sightseeing stops on our way to Cusco.
Again wonderful stay overall !!! Would definitely recommend

We stayed two nights at K'uychi Rumi. In addition to everything the review from Ewan mentions below....I cannot even begin to describe the attention to detail and the attention to service that you will experience at this OASIS in Urubamaba. They arranged car pick up at the Cusco airport, they made dinner reservations for us, they made our Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu arrangements, they arranged all of our car transfers, they made our train arrangements....AND when we got stuck up at Machu Picchu because the train tracks had mud slides....they watched the train service, stayed up late and answered our emails and had a car waiting for us at 1:00 AM at Ollanta train station. They even made our hotel reservation in Cusco to include a restaurant reservation with a balcony over looking the Winter Solstice parade..... I am a 15+ year corporate event planner and this is my first trip advisor review - I cannot say enough about this place!! Thank you Rodrigo and Carlos for everything - would not have changed a thing! :

We had three nights at K'uychi Rumi Bungalows - although they aren't actually bungalows, they are two storey houses, complete with balconies, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, kitchen / dining area, private gardens and a fireplace / hearth. The buildings have great character and have been cleverly designed so that no two are alike. It was a great place to stay. You can enjoy the privacy of your own wee house and garden (the gardens are laid out in such a way that you have your own private space) and can self cater if you want - the owners can arrange for fresh food to be waiting for you when you arrive if you want it. And / or you can go for a wander and talk to the incredibly friendly and helpful family who own the place. I think we had been there for about 30 minutes and we were sitting down with them drinking tea and a very nice pisco! Every night one of the staff came to set up the fire in the hearth - we love an open fire and this was great. There are a number of good walks that you can do directly from the property, but it's also in the heart of the sacred valley and they have an excellent driver who can take you anywhere you need to - we headed out to Pisac from here and they arranged for a pickup from Cusco. They also do cooking classes and can arrange horse riding, but we didn't do any of this. They did recommend some fine places for evening meals as well. It's probably best value for a family as each house sleeps four, but it didn't break the bank for just two of us. A great place to chill out if you want a break - or a great base from which to explore the sacred valley. And good breakfasts as well!

We were a group of 5 adult family members traveling in Peru and Colombia. I was the one booking everything and spent MANY hours reading, researching, and emailing back and forth. I read all of the great reviews of KR and kept wondering if it could be that good. It is. You already know from reading other reviews and looking at the photos that each unit is a little house, decorated with Peruvian handcrafts and more. As you are driven up to KR, the first view is not great. But when you go through the gate and see the beautiful garden with blooming plants and trees, the very friendly dogs come up to great you, and Rodrigo comes out to welcome you, you will know that this is a special place.
Rodrigo and the staff took care of our every need. He offered to book our Perurail tickets and Machu Picchu passes in advance, and I wish that I had taken him up on that. It would have been so much easier. He arranged for a private driver and van to pick us up at the Cusco airport and bring us down to KR in Urubamba (a little outside of the town), taking about one and half hours. We then had the same driver for all of our other outings and sightseeing in the area. Rosalia was our driver and we really loved her. She was a great driver and a very nice person.
Rodrigo kept our big suitcases for us while we went to spend the night in Aguas Caliente the night before our Machu Picchu day. (On Perurail you can only take 11 lbs with you).
The breakfasts were great at Kuychi Rumi, and we enjoyed the fire in the fireplace our first night. It really wasn't terribly cold in May, but the fire was pleasant.
After a couple of days in Lima, Kuychi Rumi was wonderful - I wish we could have stayed longer. We all want to return, and next time I will just send money to Rodrigo and take him up on his offers to book things. He also gave us three great restaurant tips - one in Aguas and two in Cusco. When it came time to settle up our account, everything was in order. It was a fantastic base for the Cusco region. We kept the city of Cusco for the last two days, but honestly we wish we had more time at KR. Cusco was nice to see for a day, but we much preferred all of the sights and experiences from our Kuychi Rumi base. I highly recommend Kuychi Rumi.
The altitude is lower at KR than at Cusco, which is why we initially started looking into that area. Give yourself some time to adjust to the altitude before you spend time in Cusco or anywhere that has a higher altitude. We brought altitude sickness pills, but did not need them. We drank the coca tea and were mostly fine. (I had a slight headache in the middle of the night, maybe from altitude, and took a couple of over-the-counter ibuprofen. I was fine after that.)
Things to see and do from KR - depends on what you like...mountain biking, hiking, seeing many ruins (Pisac, Ollantaytambo, Moray, Salinas, more), Pisac market (much better than buying in Cusco), Awana Kancha (llamas, alpacas, and weaving demonstration), animal rescue - cannot remember the name - condors, pumas, and more, shopping in Ollantaytambo, shopping in Urubamba (ceramics at Seminario and others, more).

We stayed at Kuychi Rumi for one night during our recent trip to South America and cannot say enough about how much we loved the house, and the amazing warmth and generosity of the wonderful management team and staff. This is a really special place where you are looked after so well, it's like being cocooned in goodness! Before arriving we had the most incredible support and assistance from the wonderful Rodrigo who organised all of our train tickets, transfers and guides for the Sacred Valley and Mach Pichu, all the while providing excellent itinerary advice as well. For example Rodrigo organised for us to be picked up in Cusco, then have a full day tour of the Sacred Valley, then transfer to Kuychi Rumi for just $USD85 total. Our driver Julio was fantastic, we visited the lovely town of Chinchero for the Sunday market, Moray, the Salina and Ollantaytambo. When we arrived at Kuychi Rumi that evening our house was waiting including a gorgeous roaring fire. We loved he dogs at the property and the gardens were stunning. When it was time or dinner Julio was back to drive us 5 minutes up the road to a great local restaurant, then collected us a few hours later. On arrival back at Kuychi Rumi after inner our wonderful hosts were waiting to escort us back through the gardens to the house by torchlight and make sure we were safely inside. No detail was overlooked. The house itself was huge and lovely in every way - we wish we had weeks to spend there. The guides organised by Rodrigo at Machu Pichu were great and the seats he booked for us on the Vistadrome train were brilliant, we could not have got better. In conclusion, we loved styling at Kuychi Rumi and would highly recommend it as a wonderful base to explore the Sacred Valley. A complete delight!!
