After traveling for almost 24 total hours to get to Urubamba (due to flight delays), we were thoroughly delighted to walk into the tranquil reception of the Tambo Del Inka where all feelings of fatigue and jetlag quickly melted away. We were greeted by a courteous staff who led us to a lounge sofa with views of the Urubamba river to relax while they prepared complimentary drinks and processed our check in materials. We knew right then that we had made the right choice of hotel.
Everything about this 2 year old property is top notch. The rooms were "modern Inca" and no detail was overlooked. The beds are typical Starwood quality and the restaurant was amazing. The Tambo also has a swanky bar with a comfortable patio overlooking the jungle that is 2-star rated in the Frommer's travel book.
We stayed here for two nights to acclimate to the elevation change in the Sacred Valley before moving north to Aguas Caliente for Machu Picchu and then heading on to Cusco for a few days. Highly recommended property. You cannot go wrong.More
