“Very amazing hotel, great service and foods”
Reviewed 23 January 2013

I loved this hotel. I enjoyed the tree-like structure of the roof supports and the beautiful finish to all the timbers. The comfortable room overlooked the gardens and the river.
Dinner and breakfast were the high-light. Amazing foods with great choice, and the ability to sit outside overlooking the river at breakfast.
The grounds were beautiful. The giant fireplace in reception was awesome.
I enjoyed the pool, however I was not allowed in the spa area as this was reserved for people having treatments.
A must to stay at.

From the moment you drive through the gates of Tambo del Inka, it is extremely evident that the entire experience will be top notch. The property & grounds are absolutely breathtaking. Service across the board from the concierge, spa, check-in, bartenders, wait staff, tech support, security, tour company & housekeeping were simply flawless. In 6 nights I was only able to find 1 thing to pick on which was the lack of a jacuzzi / hot tub in the pool area. There are 3 spas just below the pool area but they are not permitted for use by guests...only for a "hydrotherapy" session via the spa with an associated fee of ~$50 for 1hour. While there is a spa available in the ladies locker room, the location makes it prohibitive to relax with a spouse. Past that very small detail, my stay was perfect. It is clear that everyone associated with the hotel takes great pride in service. The hotel, staff, location & service rival some of the best in the world. Even my martini at the bar on night 1 was perfect...and it's tough to impress a martini drinker on the first try. If you plan to explore the Sacred Valley & Machu Picchu, this is an ideal starting point - particularly given the ease of their proprietary train station to Aguas Calientes. Plan to spend an extra few nights here...book a massage...and truly experience tranquility.

Good morning,

Thank you for your preference in Tambo del Inka!

Really proud to realize that your experience in our resort was simply the best! Thank you for your great appreciation on our Martini, train station and massage therapies. I am sure my colleagues did a magnificent job and you did enjoy every minute of it. Thank you!

Concerned about not being able to use our Jacuzzi area. In fact, we do have a long big outside/inside pool, gym, business center, game room and relaxing area for all our guests to enjoy.

Glad to see that you did truly experience tranquility while in our property.

Look forward to hosting you again in time.

I stayed there in November. It was the most beautiful hotel I have ever seen. The grounds and interior are out of a style magazine.

We knew something special was about to occur when our cab driver gave us instant respect when we told him where we were going. We were treated as kings as soon as we entered the grounds. Coco tea greeted us as we exited the taxi and our bags were taken from the trunk and waiting for us as we checked in.

It made our trip to Machu even more magical as it enhanced the entire experience!

A breath taking establishment. No expense has been spared in its construction and its presentation and layout is simply amazing. Staff and the service provided was also first class, nothing was too much trouble. Our room was very comfortablle and spacious. Breakfast and dining experiences were also first class. It was an absolute delight to stay at such a beautifully presented hotel and to be looked after by such considerate staff. If you are going to the Sacred Valley you should include this hotel on your bucket list - simply the best!

If you are suffering from altitude sickness the hotel can provide oxygen to you in your room. Also there is plenty of the local tea available, to also assist combating altitude issues.

Room Tip: We were located on the second floor which was very quite, comfortable and looked out over the river...

After traveling for almost 24 total hours to get to Urubamba (due to flight delays), we were thoroughly delighted to walk into the tranquil reception of the Tambo Del Inka where all feelings of fatigue and jetlag quickly melted away. We were greeted by a courteous staff who led us to a lounge sofa with views of the Urubamba river to relax while they prepared complimentary drinks and processed our check in materials. We knew right then that we had made the right choice of hotel.

Everything about this 2 year old property is top notch. The rooms were "modern Inca" and no detail was overlooked. The beds are typical Starwood quality and the restaurant was amazing. The Tambo also has a swanky bar with a comfortable patio overlooking the jungle that is 2-star rated in the Frommer's travel book.

We stayed here for two nights to acclimate to the elevation change in the Sacred Valley before moving north to Aguas Caliente for Machu Picchu and then heading on to Cusco for a few days. Highly recommended property. You cannot go wrong.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the Urubamba river. Each room has a screen door that opens so you can relax w...

A wonderful hotel with top class customer service. It is worth the extra you are paying to stay here because it is a great place to come back to and relax after some hard sightseeing. The rooms are tasteful and spaciuos and the whole setting is special with mountains and a flowing river nearby.

The restaurant is excellent but pricey. There are also excellent places to eat nearby and the centre iof Urumbamba is not far away.It is very convenient for many of the sites and I would definitely prefer this to staying in Cusco
