“Cheap, cheap, cheap Motel!!!!!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 February 2012

First this place is not a Hotel, like they say!!!

We had reserved a suite with a view of the sea and the river and specifically ask for a queen bed. We arrived at 1h30 am, an was given a smoking room (13) not larger than 8 foot x 8 foot, with old moldy carpet on the first floor! We where shocked, and said that was not the room we had reserved, the man at the desk told us there was nothing left! The next morning 7 am, we rushed to the desk and ask for the room we had reserved. They told us that was the suite we had reserved!!! This ''Suite'' had no fridge, no drawers, 8x8 again and a very small double bed and forget the memory foam... In the bathroom, no where to put your personnal thing, each time you took your shower, your toilet would get wet. Ouffff we where really angry, so we thought well let's leave thise place, we where not going to stay in this chaep motel a week!!! Went to have breakfast downstairs,,, oufff the breakfast is sliced ham, sliced cheese, toast, cererals, yougurt in a jar, and fruit salad.. oh and by, the way forget refrigerattion and covering in the bread and the ham an cheese.. It's stand's there for 3 or 4 hours, without being cooled...

Then we called EXPEDIA and told them that we where not given the room we had reserved, oh yes they ^spoke with someone from the hotel to finally tell us that we had what we had reserved for...I have taken pictures... And even told us we had to stay there or else we would loose our money (640$ us) for a week...

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOWN

NO WI FI IN THE ROOMS, only in the living room with no air conditioning
NO AIR CONDITIONING IN THE WHOLE PLACE ONLY IN LOBBY AND DINNING ROOM
NO QUEEN BEDS
NO DRAWERS IN THE ROOMS
60$ TO WASH A BAG OF CLOTHS!!! ( $4 aroud town )
SUITE'S MEASURES 8X8 NO BIGGER (80$)NIGHT!!!
BREAKFAST IS THE SAME ALL WEEK LONG...

Room Tip: If you really want to go there... reserve one night, and then make sure you like this place before r...

We stayed for a three bedroom and three night in this hotel in Montevideo... It's close to the huge Carasco beach, Buses for the city are just a little confusional and not so many times... But it's not their business, anyway everything's clean and personal is always at your service for every situation. Breakfast is so good, and coffee too! And we're italian so we can judge for it! hehe... Anyway that was a great holiday...

We spent a night in Montevideo, at the Hotel Bahamas. It was close to the Rambla, near a major shopping center and the airport. The room was clean, basic, and quiet. The staff were helpful, especially since our GPS tried to point us to another hotel apparently with the same name in the Old City, about 11 km away. They confirmed we had a reservation at the hotel in Carrasco and helped us find our room. The hotel isn't huge, but they do have a restaurant, and the breakfast the next morning was great. The only thing I found slightly lacking was the bed was a little hard, but it didn't ruin our stay. We would stay there again.

Room Tip: We didn't stay in the tower, but the rooms on the end of the top floor may have a view of the ri...

Location is great, however: rooms are tiny and bathrooms inadequate (sink and toilet practically kissing, a heavy person could not even fit in the bathroom). Also showering was interesting: the water floods the entire bathroom floor....:( Finally, "Bahamas" was COLD. We arrived on a chilly day, in the 40's. The rooms were freezing cold and took some time to warm up. Apparently they are trying to save energy b/c all the lights in the halls were off as well, and after fumbling with the key to the door my husband suggested turning on a light.

On the plus side: Breakfast was served cheerily on a white tray loaded with goodies. Yum. Parking is a plus. It was a great place to watch the COPA (Go Uruguay) and so close to Piriapolis, Playa, the airport, etc. that it is certainly convenient. But they need to turn up the heat and make the bathrooms more functional!!

Room Tip: The rooms above the dining room looked really comfortable. Do not take the rooms on the dark tiled h...

Willing to book a cab. Staff very nice and friendly. Room itself is nothing. No reason to stay otherwise, but cheap and good for an early flight.

Stayed there one night and will surely use it again. It is clean, the people are very polite and helpful, breakfast a bit skimpy but adequate to get you out the door. It is a bit old, but the room I was in had been redone and carpet, bedspreads and bathroom were like now.

For luxury, no. For a great budget stop when a place to sleep well is all you need: Absolutely yes.

Personnel is wonderful. All of them. Very polite. The cleaning ladies are also wonderful.
The dinning room attendants are very nice. The hotel is very clean. Outside at times is a little noisy, but nothing is prefect. I spent a whole month there from december 15 to january 12th, and I felt like I was staying at home. I walked to the seaside everyday. Only two blocks away. Gent market is a few blocks away, and you find everything you need there. I will not hesitate to go back at any time. Is away from the hussle of downtown. I used public transportation and is a beautiful ride. It takes like one hour, but I rather be in a peaceful neighborhood, away from downtown.
