Description: Besides the fact that you can come to have a guided tour throughout the winery, vineyards, wine cellar and a classic car museum you can also have wine tastings and lunch. We think that the best food is usually the simple food made with high quality ingredients is the best. Our speciality are the grilled meats but do not hesitate to try our more elaborated dishes. We recommend if you are paying us a visit to do it chill, not in a hurry so you can enjoy your staying the best.

“Awesome food and wine!!!! Pricing issues though....”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 April 2014

This place could easily get 5 stars from me. The food was perfect, I had a french rack with a baked sweet potato and my wife also had lamb with mashed pumpkin. The wine tasting was amazing and the service really friendly and polite. The restaurant and the whole property are beautiful.

However I must take 2 stars off for two very clear reasons.
1) the price for the wine tasting is today (Apr, 7th 2014) US$ 52 and they charged us US$ 66 and argued that the price had changed an while ago and they "forgot" to update the prices in the website... this is unacceptable!... but I ended up paying for it not to make a seen.... I feel robbed though...
2) despite the polite and friendly service they didn't deal well with the above situation, in addition to that they need more people serving the tables... it took forever to get attention to order anything...

Last but not least... it is expensive for Montevideo standards...

I still recommend the place but it is important that you make a reservation and go prepared and relaxed because they are very planned and get lost if anything go different and this could ruin your meal....

“Impeccable!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 March 2014 via mobile

Even the ducks and roosters were well groomed, the grounds were immaculate. We went for the wine tour followed by the tasting and lunch (only lunch is served here). It was not cheap but was well worth the price. We shared the salmon appetizer and both had the bouza baby beef with an Augratin potato, all prepared to perfection! We also shared two desserts the flan and the Martin Fierro Soufflé, the flan was excellent but the soufflé was simply out of this world. There is an old car museum that has quite a few cars and cycles, all pristinely restored. It was a totally delightful experience for a rainy Sunday in Montevideo, would love to return on a sunny day to enjoy it but felt so at peace there on a rainy day! The only problem we had was trying to make reservations on the web site, tried several times, ending up emailing them with no response but once we got there customer service was the best.

“Quite the crowd”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 March 2014

I have been meaning to get out to Bouza for sometime and it has finally happened. If you get the chance - GO! It is a great tour(tour guides in Spanish, English, Portugese). We did the tour and a wine tasting, all very enjoyable. Just a tad pricey, but the wine is good! We happen to be there when they were picking, sorting the grapes for the kegs and then into the barrels. The bodega is 20 minutes from downtown MVD and is a popular location for lunch. I highly recommend that you visit outside of the carnival week or around the holidays. We went on a local carnival holiday and the place was packed. Eve so, we had an enjoyable time and are looking to return. If you are into old cars, go! They have a very nice collection of old cars and motorcycles.
