We only stayed one night at this hotel on our round-trip through Uruguay. The hotel location was very good - only minutes away from both Centro and Puerto, and directly on the Rambla.
The staff were a bit strange. They let us wait for over 30 minutes before checking-in saying that there is a "problem" with our room and they have to see if they can find an alternative hotel for us. Although they never wanted to explain what the problem really was. After over 30 minutes spent at the reception desk, they finally gave us a room. Again no explanation on how come the "problem" disappeared.
Our room was a bit disappointing. It didn't really correspond to what we had previously seen on their web page. The interior was run down and old and the bathroom had black stains on the tiles and around bathtub edges. The towels were old and full of stains.
Breakfast was good, although the air-conditioning in the breakfast restaurant was a bit too strong.

This hotel is all front -the public areas are well presented and clean. The rooms however need a facelift. The air con in our room did not work and despite assurances it would be fixed -it was not. The double glazing was also inadequate. The rooms however were clean but small. The restaurant was good and prices reasonable and the waiting on staff excellent.
Reception staff less helpful.
My advice would be to seek other better recommended hotels. This one is a bland basic mid range hotel and if you are looking for nothing too special its OK. One advantage is that is is close to the centre for sightseeing

The hotel itself is great, fab room with a big comfortable bed, a large bathroom with a bath, free baby cot, free WIFI in the room and a nice view that looked out over the ocean. The pictures on the hotel website are very accurate. The hotel is in walking distance to the old city and to the commercial centre of town but a taxi ride away from shopping malls and beaches. We were going to book this hotel on www.decolar.com but then realised that we could get a cheaper rate by booking directly on the hotel website - this is always frustrating because these types of booking websites are meant to have the best deals so you don't expect to see better deals direct with the hotel. We checked in at 3am so it was great to have 24 hour reception. We enjoyed the breakfast - fruit, croissants, breads, spreads, cereals, yogurt, cakes. The hotel has a nice little gym, a sauna and a small jacuzzi - however we could not find any way to turn the jacuzzi on so maybe it was just a small pool? it was only 3metres by 2metres wide so pretty small. The one thing that lets it down is that there are no towels provided at the pool/gym so we had to ask room service for some extra towels. Also, we were lucky to get a room on the ocean view side of the building but if you end up on the other side of the building thne view is of the old city and not so nice. I think of US$132 per night for a double room it was pretty pricey but we could not find any other hotels that were available in the school holidays so that is why we went there.

A standard multi-story hotel, overlooking the "Ocean" (actually the River Plate Estuary). Well-located for access to city centre and old town, but the area is slightly run-down and some guides advised not to walk back alone after dark. Room fully adequate, reception and other services efficient and starightforward. Two computers for guest use in foyer. Good breakfast buffet, and smart restaurant, but limited menu (several other restaurants not far away)

This Hotel is average. Staff were helpful especially Washington. Great view from the 7th floor out over the sea. Airconditioning didn't work. Asked someone to come and fix it but nobody came. Rooms were clean. Good location. Breakfast wasn't great.
