Although far from the old city of Montevideo this is a good hotel in a safe residential area near a lot of tasty neighborhood restaurants in Punte Carretas. Clean and well maintained. Breakfast buffet is standard although the coffee tasted burnt every morning. Across the street from the golf club and a block from the much touted Punte Carretas shopping mall. Buses to many directions of the city leave from the mall for those who want to see a bit of the city. Good value.

Room Tip: If you want lots of room rent an executive suite and get the view.

This place was great. Large, clean rooms. Bathroom was spotless and modern. Beds were comfortable but a little small (not a king as requested). At about $100 per night, this place put other hotels to shame. Not much for views from the room though. Lobby area is open, fresh and flows easily. Seems to be a gathering hotel for groups of 10-20 people during my 2 night stay. I would stay here again. Easy walk to river and malls. Eat at La Perdiz for lunch. Super responsive wireless internet in the room at all hours of the day. AC controls were "hidden' near the bed table. Kind of noisy and outdated but the temperature outside was moderate so not a problem.

Room Tip: Request a single bed and not double beds. They are really small.

Rooms are sizable and clean with attractive furnishings. View from our room nothing to pay for, but the view from rooftop worth some time at sunset. Nearby cares, shopping and restaurants are personable and enjoyable. La Perdiz is especially nice. Within easy walking distance to Las Ramblas where we spent a good deal of our time! Would choose hotel again.

Room Tip: Ask about view! Get higher level floors.

I like the location, away from the more crowded area surrounding Av 18 de Julio. It's a nice neighborhood, and hotel is a few blocks from the upscale Punta Carretas shopping mall, with some good restaurant options.
Nice and clean rooms.
