The antiques are not antiques, just old junk. The cheese is amazing, the produce good. There are lots of stand with animal sales, mascots. That was crazy. Cheap stuff. Nothing soectacular, but on a nice day, it makes for a good walk.

“If you need something for less price it's ok...if you find it.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 January 2012

This is a anything and everything flea market. Most of the stuff is really cheap junk but then other things are fine. Fruit, vegetables, meat, cheese....all good. Some electronics and electronic gadgets/plugs are good. Point is, if you need something and can't find it in a store here it might be at this market and likely at a lower price than in a store. But it's hit and miss if you'll find what you're looking for. Nice place for a tourist to see....ONCE. Just to say you did it. Other than that, not so much.

I've been to Feria de Tristan Navaja on May, 3rd, 2009. I spared the sunday morning to visit that Feria, since I like to stroll on swap meets and antique fairs. Well, I saw a lot of old stuff, but not antiques or pitoresque things, making this visit a little disappointing, since I had created a great expectation.
The Feria is huge, distributed among several streets besides the own Tristan Navaja. In my opinion, if you have plenty of time, you may spare some hours to walk thru those streets; otherwise, go elesewhere.
Oh, should you be eager to buy Uruguayan products, mainly clothes, it´s better going to Parque Rodó, where a fair also runs on sundays.

“All you can imagine!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 August 2005

We were a group of friends from Porto Alegre, Brazil, a city where you can find a famous antiques and handicraft fair on Sundays on one of the major parks of the city. I imagine that it is one of the reasons why the Feria de Tristan narvaja did not impress us a lot. But Montevideo's fair is far more pitoresque: you can find almost anything in the seven downtown blocks where the fair takes place every Sunday (the name is due to the street where the fair is placed), from fruit to antiques, from rare books to Paraguayan phony Louis Vutton purses, from articraft to old vinil long-plays. Prices are fair and it is a place you ought to visit,
