“Must see”
Reviewed 28 November 2013

This is a great spot to try a big variety of local foods as well as pick up souvenirs and gifts for home. I wasn't aware that there was entertainment so that was an added bonus.

“What a buzz...”
Reviewed 25 November 2013

It's true that to get a feel of a place, be one of the crowd. The markets are a lot of fun and we stocked up with fresh fruit, fish and other little bits and pieces for the week. Great atmosphere, loads of fun.

“Fun market with great food”
Reviewed 21 November 2013

This market has really expanded the last few years. The range of food is especially good. Many stalls sell the same product at different price points, so it's worth comparing. Most of the food is cheaper the further towards the harbour (away from town) you walk. It starts to pack up around 11:30 or so. Many stalls run out of food and drinks even before then. For the best experience you should probably get there by 10am.

“Great local market”
Reviewed 8 November 2013

The market is huge and a great place to visit. Lots of fresh local produce and heaps of souvenirs. There was also a band and a dancing show to watch which was great. It was hot when we went and the fresh juice was a welcome relief. The market is a great introduction to the Cook Islands.

“Great Market”
Reviewed 4 November 2013

Colourful and vibrant. Lots of good souvenir options at good prices. The fresh fruit & vegetables are great value, the Mamas behind the stalls ready to help and let you taste the unfamiliar and tell you how to cook/prepare them. One stall sells smoked fish and pate; try before you buy. The chicken liver pate is just magic. Great Ike Mata as well. The smoothies are great value many stalls sell them.
