“Great airport hotel for business or pleasure”
Reviewed 1 July 2014

Over a number of years I have stayed in most of the hotels in the Nadi airport area and this is probably the pick of the hotels in the area. I have stayed here a number of times under its previous brand “Macambo”. Since then, the rooms have had a major makeover. The rooms are tastefully decorated and furnished, and the bathroom/ closet area a generous size and well equipped. I found the staff friendly and helpful, though I never did have any particular problems to put this to the test.

The restaurant has a good range of fare to meet most tastes, though I must admit I missed the buffet and special nights I enjoyed years ago, under the “Macambo” brand. There are some shops within the hotel for souvenirs as well as those little things you forgot to pack. There a tour desk where a helpful young lady is able to organise those day trips or other activities you would like to try. Even if you are staying for a few days, there are plenty of day trips available, with most offering pickup and dropoff bus service.

Access to the internet is very expensive, but on the other hand there is the free use of a terminal on a time limited basis, beside the restaurant. That did in fact meet all my needs.

There is a very nice pool area, but I do suggest you test the temperature before you jump in. It is the coldest pool I have ever experienced in a tropical country. Some may call it refreshing, but I just call it cold! For the sporting, there is a golf driving range, 9 hole course, and tennis court,

Like most airport area hotels anywhere, it is unlikely that you book in here for a holiday, but this would be a good choice for an overnight or two after arrival off a long flight, or prior to departure back home. I enjoyed my stay, and am happy to recommend it.

Room Tip: The hotel is fairly well spread out, so for some walking distance may be an issue. my room looked ov...

Stayed at this hotel on 2 different nights them being 14/05/14 and again on the 20/05/14, as a stop over hotel during a family holiday. The Novotel was the pick manly because it was the "Mocambo" some 30 years ago and my father wanted to say somewhere Nostalgic to remember his time living and working in Fiji.
The Hotel itself has seen better days, but it is clean, and very friendly. The hotel also caters for early arrivals, and or late check outs with a number f packages you can add on to your account.
The restaurant was good and the 4 meals that I had breakfast & dinner where fine! The breakfast omelet was very enjoyable.
As I have stated the hotel has seen better days and the rooms are a little tired, but the balcony view of the sun setting over Nadi town make up for it. but if you want Micky mouse with all the mod cons maybe you will be best to look else where. but all in all I found the facility's more then adequate.
If you have kids there is plenty of space for them to run wild and a pool is almost always empty so they can rule the roost.
I did not try the spa at this hotel but was told by my Brothers Girlfriend that it was quite good!
Also the hotels resort shops where the best priced out of all the hotels I have stayed at in Fiji, so if you need board shorts ect grab them there or go into town.

Overall very good

Room Tip: Book online with Novotel Nadi and get a deluxe room, as they will be closer to the resort facility...

Stayed one night due to cancelled flight. Great for a one or two night stay, clean and welcoming staff. Not much to do, a quiet hotel. Lovely restaurant and food was excellent. Supermarket nearby for supplies and a couple of shops at the hotel.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the golf course were lovely.

My Fiance stayed here a number of times when we were living in Fiji because of its convenient close proximity to the airport when he was travelling to and from business trips. We stayed here as a family on two occasions. The first time was when we had to quickly move from the health hazard that is Raffles to the Novotel at 11pm at night. We called the hotel hoping that they would have a vacancy because we could NOT stay at Raffles. At 10:30pm they told us they would gladly accommodate us. We were so grateful. Check in was swift and we were grateful for a clean comfortable room. The first room had a bunkbed and two doubles. Just perfect for families. It's basic but does the job for a stop over hotel. We did not have breakfast so can not comment because both times we left the hotel much to early due to collecting my sister from one flight and the second time catching an early flight ourselves. The first room was in the block furthest away from the reception. It would have been a real pain if we did not have a car because its a loooonngg walk from reception.
The second time we had a room just behind the pool and close to reception. This room was in slightly better condition than the first but both were clean and basic but comfortable. We did not use the pool but it looked clean and was suitable for a quick dip.
Again we did not eat in the restaraunt here so we can not comment. After we returned from dinner in Danerau we put our son to bed and decided to have a night cap on the balcony. It was 30 mins later after we finished our drinks that we realised the door had locked itself behind us. We banged on the door and called our sons name over and over but when he is exhausted he is such a deep sleeper and so after ten mins we Gave up cuz we could not wake him! Luckily my fiance had his phone with him outside and googled the hotel phone number. We explained the situation and asked for someone to come into the room to let us back in. We waited for twenty minutes and were confussed that no one had come to help when we heard the hotels room phone inside begin to ring. Laughing my fiance called the hotel again from his mobile and they asked had we been able to get in because someone went to our room but we were not outside. We explained again we were stuck on the balcony outside at the BACK of the room. They understood this time and someone came within five minutes to let us back in from the balcony. We found the whole episode so funny but then realised we were lucky in that we had brought a cell phone outside with us. If we hadn't then we would have been stuck outside all night! Don't make the same mistake do not pull the sliding doors close only the insect door and bring a cell phone!!! Hotel management really needs to address this as it could potentially have dire consequences! We know for a fact that this has happened to other guests too so ours was not an isolated incident.
Other than this minor complaint we would recommend staying here but only as a stop over NOT as a family holiday break away its just not that kind of hotel. Excellent for early/late flights. We did not need it but they also provide a very reliable shuttle to and from the airport.
