We did this river safari today and absolutely loved every minute of it!! The boat was so much fun and the village visit was just perfect. We would highly recommend anyone coming to Fiji to do this trip, the staff are wonderful, friendly and a lot of fun and the experience is 10/10! I would just say one thing and that is bring some gifts for the kids of the village! I wish we knew about this before hand because their beautiful little smiles were just priceless.

We are so happy to receive your comments and to learn that you found your Safari adventure to be the "Highlight" of your Fijian holiday... It is such a treat to receive feedback from our friends and we are humbled to know that you would "highly recommend" anyone coming to Fiji to experience the Safari.

I have shared your comments with the team and they were all smiles and send you their lolomas (regards). They appreciated the 10/10 score :)

In regards to the suggestion to bring gifts, we appreciate you sharing this and we do wish to advise that by simply going on Safari you are helping your village directly. We neither encourage nor discourage the act of giving as we leave this to our guest's own prerogative, but please rest assured that you have helped your new friends in your village :)

We thank you for choosing to "See The Heart & Soul of Fiji" with us and we trust that the memories you made are "Simply Unforgettable"

We really thought this is going to be just another touristy experience, but it turned out great. Our family of 4 (with 2 kids aged 8 and 10) enjoyed the 360-degree spins in the jet boat as well as the beautiful scenery on the Sigatoka River. But more importantly the visit to the Toga Village was unforgettable. Our captain Nrox told us stories about Fiji and the Sigatoka Valley before we reached the village. At the village we were welcomed by the local guide Maggie who briefed us on the itinerary for the day. First, we enter the community hall where we met the villagers for a traditional kava ceremony. We tasted kava for the first time and it tasted somewhat like our traditional Chinese medicine.

We were then invited to tour around the village to learn more about their way of life. We were impressed by how strong the community spirit and bonding was. The villagers live simply and they were happy and contented.

After the tour, we gathered at the community hall again for a sumptuous meal cooked by the ladies of the village. We had grilled chicken with spinach, curried potatoes with tuna, samosas, roti wraps and more!

After the meal, the villagers sang and danced for us. We also joined in for some dancing before bidding the village good bye.

It was really a great experience, immersing ourselves in the real Fijian life and culture.

We are thrilled to receive your comments and to learn that you had an "Unforgettable experience" on your Safari adventure with us. It is always lovely to hear from our friends who have been out on Safari and to learn about their expedition.

It is awesome to read that you found the whole experience to be one that exceeded your expectations and you discovered that the village experience is what makes the whole adventure special, with the bonus being your Safari jet boat ride to your village.

The Safari is all about people meeting people, a true sharing of cultures and it is lovely to know this is precisely what you found and loved from your time with us.

We wish to thank you and your family for choosing to share your Fijian holiday with us and we hope that the memories you made will one day bring you back home to Fiji!!

We, 2 adults and 2 children of 5 and 9 yo respectively, joined Leps of Sigatoka River Safari in Fiji recently. Leps was great on manoeuvring the bends in the longest river in Fiji and shared with us, his experiences while growing up in one of the villages along the river.

The trip also brought us to Karauwo, one of the 17 villages which the river safari company visits and we learnt lots about lives in the villages and especially the challenges faced by little children who attend schools across the river.

If so wishes, one may bring some small gifts for the children in the villages. Do make sure that you only pass these to the village spokesperson or the village head instead of to the children themselves ok. Cheers!

Right from booking with Roco at the Shangra La to all the staff on the bus and the Jet Boat ,you could not meet a friendlier group of people, the boat ride was exciting and the village experience was eye opening.
I good idea is to take some gifts for the children of the village ,it will be gratefuly appreciated.
A suggestion , if anyone has any physical problems it would be good idea to ask about the accessibility from the boat to the village being visited as some are quite steep and slippery.

Wow, what a great review to receive here on TripAdvisor and to learn that right from the moment you spoke with Maggie Roko at the Shangri-la's Fijian Resort & Spa you enjoyed all your interactions with the SRS team.

We always appreciate hearing from our friends who have been on Safari with us and we thank you for letting us know that you had a "great experience".

In regards to physical limitations, we have a simple philosophy of inclusion and ruling people in. We at all times work with our guests to help them get to their village and we always assist our friends e.g. last week we had a 87yrs young adventuerer Dot who uses a walker at all times. Cpt Jack & Leps carried her into Toga Village to ensure she had a truly memorable Safari experience and of course that she was to remain part of her tour group. As we work with 17 different villages, we do advise which villages have the easier access to assist with decision making and we appreciate your feedback :)

Wishing you a great year ahead and 'lolomas' (regards) from all your friends here in Fiji.
