At only 30 minutes from central Suva, the park is a great getaway for a few hours. The trails are a bit steep and slippery in places but the hike is well worth it. You walk along clear water creeks that turn into waterfalls along the way. Wild flowers can be found as you trek through the rainforest like setting. If you are luck you will see the beautiful pink orchids that are native to Fiji growing on the side of a tree. A very enjoyable and peaceful experience.

Wow! This park is beautiful and our children and my parents loved it. Just be aware that parts of the experience are not pram friendly and so if you have a baby take a front or back pack so that you can enjoy the tree-top walk with them. Plenty to see and my 81 year old father was thrilled to get to hold tropical snakes and get his photo taken. The flora and fauna are wonderful and it is an experience not to be missed.

We went here with our four kids, age range 1-11, and paid for a guided tour (pay for the tour, it is worth it at $20FJ for the whole family over 2+ hours). Had a wonderful time wandering the trails and learning about the flora and fauna of Fiji, including learning about medicinal uses for many of the plants which are protected within the Park. The various pools tucked away within this rain forest paradise are crystal clear, and you can get into many of them. Ended the tour by spending some time at a large pool which included a rope swing. A must see gem hidden away in the hills above Suva! Be warned though: this is a hike up and down hills on fairly unimproved tracks, so be prepared to hike; you should also avoid during heavy rains.

Great place for a day trip from Suva - the park has fantastic walks with incredible rainforest. the nearby resturant is worth a visit for it's pretty view across the lake and good kids menu

I went by myself, at the end of the rainy season, which means a) the paths were full of huge puddles and extremely muddy, so much so that at times I didn't really know where to step, even with trekking sandals, and b) I felt slightly uncomfortable being pretty much the only person there. There were warnings about not taking valuables but no guards or other employees except for the man who sold me the ticket. The waterfalls were as pretty as they could be in the rainy season (mud!) but generally speaking I was a bit underwhelmed. The signage of the guided walk was not terribly informative and the ponds were not too clean (a fair amount of rubbish, shampoo bittles etc.).
On the positive side, the orchids on the side of the road in were quite beautiful and it was a pleasant little walk, easy to get to by public transport.
