Occured communication problems beween companies , between our and which invited us. Payment wasnot performed in advance , by companies. Next day after arrival doors to rooms were locked and left letter please contact reception. Waited more then one hour till manager start speak with us. Not allowed access to rooms & strong boxes. Rooms were unlocked only after payment in cash. Very wost attitude and communication.
After that relocated to Sippo Sofitel there more better , but far away from centrum

Only used as a stop over so cant be too detailed. Bedroom was clean and comfortable and as mentioned elsewhere uses a pod style bathroom with warm water on tap (which seems to be quite rare even in the 5 star Mongomo hotel).
I almost fell over coming out of the bathroom because there is an unexpected step but after that first time I was more aware so it didn't happen again.
Its about 10 minutes drive from the airport so ideal for stopovers but there does not seem to be anything of interest in the immediate area.
We didnt use the pool but it looked fine. Seemed to be a few mosquitoes buzzing around so we eat indoors. I has a very nice fish meal (Dorado). Vegetables seemed to be those frozen mixed vegetable type so not great but overall a tasty meal.
Others have mentioned bad wifi but my room was ok so that I could use whatsapp etc. Not ideal for watching videos but fine for general emails etc. Unnecessarily complicated password using upper and lower case as well as numbers which took several tries to get working.
I had a good sleep in a comfortable bed in a clean room and had no mosquito bites so not bad at all

Ibis Malabo, though not a very large hotel, is well-maintained and in very serene locality. Had dinner by the pool-side, it was adequately good, a la carte, mainly because the chef is a very pleasant person and he personally attended to all present. Service by the rest of the staff was good. As a no-frills, economical hotel, Ibis is definitely recommended for visitors

Being regularly in Mabalo, and staying in various hotels, this one is my favourite. Compared with the other local hotels its clean & tidy and has welcoming staff on front reception. The hotel has Wifi, a restaurant, a large swimming pool and conference facilities. There isn't a great selection in the restaurant but of what they do offer, it does taste good and is served quickly. Hotel is a short distance from airport and Malabo centre. Would highly recommend :)

Stayed there in Jun/July2013. Very basic ,no frills hotel (normal for Ibis), quite a new property well laid out in Malabo 2 area. Only recreation offered is a swimming pool but it closes @ 6, which is the time working people come back, so no opportunity to take advantage of this. Well serviced and friendly.. Staff make an effort to assist, but a complaint of no free wi-fi connection which is usually offered was not sorted even after 5 days there.. so their capabilites are limited... Ibis should at least think of puttin in some recreation facility (games room or gym equipment)or even a lounge.

Room Tip: make sure u keep the air conditioning up cos there are many mosquitos. Views are unhindered all around...
