I carried out several missions for the UN in Malabo at the end of the 1980s and beginning of the 90s, and stayed at Apart Hotel Impala most of the times. It was just about the only usable hotel in Malabo at the time. I liked it. One of the apartments had a nice balcony with a view of the sea and a big tree with birds weaving nests in it. Another one had an enormous amount of cockroaches rattling around in the kitchen during the night.
I wonder what this hotel is like today.
