“Early dinner while recovering jet lag”
Reviewed 31 March 2014

Six friends walked over from Skanderbeg Square, about 5 minutes. Lovely mid 1800's mansion with Ottoman styling. Started with large platters of salad to pass, then a pass around of squares of white corn (maise) in yogurt. Nice selection of breads, leavened and unleavened, with a tasty butter. Then what our Albanian friend called a local specialty: vegetable chunks (like zucchini and winter and summer squash and carrot with tomatoes and sauce of) with chunks of assorted meats, all baked in curds (as in unfinished chunks of cheese). Quite tasty. Lots of a dark red and a fruity White House wine - both pleasant and inoffensive- of Albanian origin washed it down for about 800 Leke each ($8). Friendly helpful waiter fluent in Italian, English, German.

“Pay the exact amount or you wont get the change back”
Reviewed 30 November 2013

First and only time I was there, the meal price was 1600 lek. I pay 2000 lek and the waiter on purpose only brings 200 lek back instead of 400 lek. Tips in Albania are not mandatory, but still it is very unethical that the waiter gets the part he wants from my exchange.

“Food poisoning”
Reviewed 16 August 2013

I live in the us, have family in Albania so decided to eat here since it was close to the home. Disgusting. I ordered seafood pasta and got seafood poisoning 3 hours later vomiting and high fever...continuously vomiting and very weak. All I know is that albanians are cheap and will serve anything to get money. I even had to go to the hospital that night it was so bad.... Do not eat here I warn you ...

“Nice atmosphere in the courtyard and food was good”
Reviewed 5 July 2013

Tried a couple of local starters which were very interesting and mainly very tasty. One dish containing maize bread and yoghurt would probably be best described as an acquired taste! Rest of the food and local wine was good and reasonably priced. Friendly and helpful serving staff.

“Saw the sign and thought we we're in Sarajevo and not Sarajet!”
Reviewed 2 July 2013

My wife and I were on a group tour travelling to Albania for the day, and when arriving in Tirana, the Sarajet was the restaurant which accommodated us before we set out on our free time through the city.
The location of the restaurant of was great, only a couple of minutes walk from the square. Also presentation and decor was tastefully done. Onto the food, which started with a vegetable soup then a mixed dish of different meats chopped up in small pieces, and for dessert was a nutty slice of Baklava.
The price of the meal was ridiculously cheap, wish it was the same in London! Waiters seemed to be stressed when under pressure, but otherwise our whole experience in the Sarajet was a nice one. Bon appetit!
