Grand Hotel & Spa Tirana
Ranked #46 of 95 Hotels in Tirana
Reviewed 10 February 2013 via mobile

The hotel is located in the best part of Tirana. It is almost adjacent to the residence of Enver Hoxha, the former communist leader od Albania. Also, you can reach many interesting places in a walking distance.
As for the hotel, except for the location, everything else is average. The rooms are quite small and very cold, especially if you go there in February as I did. There are no special amenities except for the room minibar and free wi-fi.
On a positive note, the staff were extremely kind and helpful, especially the lady at the reception who took her own initiative to call the owner and begotiate a discount for us.
The hotel has also a parking lot which is very useful if you drive to Tirana.

All in all, you may try this hotel and see the charms of Tirana from a close view.

Grand is located in Blocu zone, lively and quite pleasant part of the city.

The rooms are clean, although not very comfortable (oversized furniture blocking the way around the room), the breakfast food and the space where it takes place are quite decent, and the staff is helpful and welcoming.

They don't serve dinner and they don't offer room service, but as the hotel is surrounded with a number of restaurants and cafes, this is not really an issue.

One disturbing detail: the traffic in the neighbouring streets is heavy, and because of the fumes (from the car engines), the window cannot be left opened during the night, and during the day you can only open it before the light turns red, and then close it again before the line of cars starts forming right under your window.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms on upper floors, or one facing the inner yard, and this should settle the problem with...

I just came back from a business trip from Tirana,Albania where I stayed in Grand Hotel.
Hotel is located in very center of Tirana. Room was very clean, large enough for normal accommodation.Stuff very pleasant especially reception stuff.
Next time I will stay again in this hotel.

Room Tip: Rooms on the back side are quieter but those in front of hotel have perfect view of the city.

Just checked in for about my 5th or 6th stay at the hotel. As usual they arranged for pick up at the aiport and had a smooth trip in. This time I am on the 3rd floor with a balcony. Although quieter then one of the front facing rooms I actually prefer the ones in the front because sitting on the balcony and people watching is a favorite past time.

The hotel is centrally located and an easy walk to cafes and restaurants. This room is spacious, clean with a good sized bath room and new bed covers. Internet is fast and the AC working well considering the high heats Tirana is experiencing. It is walking distance to our offices and a no brainer for me to stay here on every visit.

Room Tip: Rooms on the back side and top floors are quieter but the views are not as nice.

Spent 2 days in Tirana staying at Grand Hotel. The location is excellent based in center of town near to the restaurants and bars.
The hotel was dated I would assume from the old regime and not much has been updated since. The lift was tiny, don't try to fit two people and luggage in there.
The room, was a decent size and the shower very good. But the noise from the street made sleeping difficult.

I was in a room at the front of the hotel and it was small. To open the door you needed a key and the normal magnectic door card was broken. Safe in the room was not working and only two hangers in the wardrobe, one of which was broken. On the plus side the hotel is in the city center and close to bars and resturants.

I recently organized 3 training sessions at this hotel for 20 participants.

The room is as good as any others and the hotel equipment is modern and adequate for group training.

The great success with this hotel is the flexibility of the Hotel Manager and the friendliness and professionalism of the staff. This place really will bend over backwards to make sure they cater to your needs.

The buffet breakfast is nice and plentiful, usual Balkans mixture of hot breakfast, cold cuts and cornflakes. The Buffet lunch we requested as part of the conference deal was very nice, a good mixture of hot food , soups and salad. we had a relatively large group and no complaints with reference the food.

The accommodation is comfortable, clean and tasteful. The Rooms are not 5 star , but the price per night is value for money and the location of the hotel in the 'block' area makes it one of the best positioned in Tirana.

Overall a good experience, the willingness of the staff is a revelation for Tirana in comparison to the Sheridan and Rogner attitude problems.

I hope they keep up the good work with the renovations and modernization of the gym and spa.

Room Tip: Rooms to the rear can be noisy during the day , the best option is to stay above 1st floor and on th...
