In 1976 we travelled to Dubrovnik and then couldn't transverse Albania to get to Greece, so like a spoilt child that didn't get his birthday present I had to get there one day, and you know the birthday present wasn't that good anyway.
Albania still has a long way to go before it is going to be a 1st World tourist destination. However, if you are selective the Hotels are top class.
Sar'Otel Hotel & Spa was one of those lovely warm friendly hotels that exude hospitality in the old fashioned way. Being in Albania is like travelling back to the 1970s, the people are friendly and are willing to please, but their knowledge of the finer points of cuisine, hospitality and tourism leaves a little to be desired.
I cannot complain however about this hotel, the food was good, the service exceptional and beds comfy. Great shower and all clean as a whistle.More
