“A decent hotel at a great price”
Reviewed 18 January 2013

I felt the hotel was a great value, it's an older hotel, but very clean, the staff is friendly, rooms are serviced regularly and fairly spacious. It's outside the city center, but there is public transport within 3 minute walk. I had a nice experience here and would recommend to those who want to save money. A single room cost me $29 US.

The hotel is good for a short stay. We lived on 11th floor in a One-room business class. The room is renovated and fully equipped. Its bathroom is rather clean with lots of towels. They provide a piece of soap, shampoo. Cost - 55 euros per 2 pax. Breakfast is extra paid. It is located in the residential area and it takes about 15 min to get to the city center by bus.

Of course if you go to a 2-star hotel, u can't expect to get a 5-star room or service there. I booked there a single room for my guest because all rooms at other hotels (with available prices I mean) were occupied. I can't say I was horrified but still some things can be better even in a 2-star hotel.
First of all, it's a very old hotel, especially the external interface and corridors. There was some 'face-lift' done, but not everywhere. The room had a shared bathroom/toilet (1 for 2 rooms). it was very old (the bath, the sink, the doors, the tap) and not neatly equipped.
Secondly, they could do something with the balcons. The room had a balcon but the door was closed.
At the same time I have to say that the room itself was quite ok (if u have no other place to stay), quite clean.
The receptionist is a nice lady and speaks English.
Located far from the city centre.

As all other Minsk hotels were full due to (communist party ?) congresses I opted for this low-graded far-from-the-centre soviet style hotel. Somewhere I read the building looks like it was taken straight from the centre of Mogadishu and that is correct, especially since similar buldings around this hotel look much nicer. Inside it much better, nice reception folks, english spoken and a wide range of rooms, varying from old style bathroom/toilet sharing with your neighbour ones to small suites. Prices vary from 20 EUR single to 60 EUR double suite. The restarurant (café) is a noisy affair with mediocre service and reasonable food, but it has free WiFi. Bus 81 brings you to the centre in 20 minutes for about 0,15 EUR (BYR 600), you can pay the driver directly.
