“Marvellous value in best location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 July 2014

Staying five nights in July I really appreciated being in a quiet spot right in the heart of the most interesting sights in the unique historic city of Sarajevo.
Staff are exceptionally friendly & always willing to help.
Rooms are basic, but very clean & practical.
Breakfasts offer good variety, with great Bosnian coffee.
Thoroughly recommended.
One criticism : TV news comes from US propaganda station CNN. BBC World News would be better.

Room Tip: If you have difficulty with stairs, try for ground floor, as there is no lift.

We stayed for 3 nights on the first floor. Despite the busy location (it was Ramadan) and the low floor, the noise level was surprisingly low. The room was clean, comfortable with a view of the main mosque. Breakfast is good, and the coffee machine superior. Transfer to airport was arranged for us at 5:30 am. All of the warm staff (we met 3) are highly commendable. One thing of note is that the hotel takes only cash.

Room Tip: Pick a low floor as there is no lift

In Sarajevo all life seems to concentrate in the very lively, exotic and charming old town. Hotel Old Town is smack bang in the middle of it and all the hustle and bustle is literally at your door step. Still the rooms are surprisingly quiet, yet on the small side.
If you want prime location but do not want spend top dollar, this a perfect choice.

The house is just in the old town of Sarajevo. Pretty convenient. Very basic room with 90*200 beds taken from hostel. Very clean though. Quiet location with particular atmosphere from old villages, couldn't tell if stayed in a capital. This is what I've enjoyed and appreciated the most. Staff is super friendly, breakfast very essential. I've taken this choice as of positive reviews and nearby hotel was overbooked. The isolation of the room was poor. I could hear the Indian neighbour talking as he would sit just next to me. He couldn't drop his phone for hours. OK, paid 80 euro per night, bit pricy in my point of view.

We stayed on the thirs floor and had a good sized room with a wonderful view. The bed was comfy and the airconditioning worked extremely well. The down side to being on the third floor was that here was no lift, but a very helpful receptionist took our suitcases up to our room. The hotel staff were on hand to help with all our questions about how to get to places and took an interest in how we got on. The breakfast had rather a limited choice - but eggs were cooked freshly to order and home made coffee was also brought to the table. Tea with cold milk was also to be had. Having to pay with cash (no credit cards accepted) was another of the criticisms but you could pay in konvertible marcs or euros. The location is great - right in the heart of old town near Latino bridge where Princip had been assinated 100 years ago. very near to cafes, tourist attractions and souvenier shops.

Room Tip: Third floor rooms have wonderful room if you don't mind walking up stairs.

Great little hotel with extremely helpful and friendly staff. Rooms small but clean, air conditioning, good hot water and TV with all the major channels. Wifi also works well in the rooms. Breakfast also good - when asked if you would like a Bosnian coffee - dont say no!

We stayed here for three nights at the beginning of june and had a great time. The place is newly refurbished with all mod cons. Our room on the second floor was a little cramped but overall I'd recommend staying here. Staff were extremely helpful and professional, excellent english, good breakfast ...continental style ..and best of all superb location ...right next to the old quarter ...in the heart of the city ..and the up market terrace bar at Hotel Europe just round the corner. We'll be going back for sure....... if you go be sure to take the walking tour with Ervin ... he's brilliant !!

Room Tip: Ask for a corner room ...they are bigger
