We chose a private tour who guided by Neno himself. Excellent tour guide full of passion and positive energy and eager to share his experience and thoughts on Sarajevo history. One of the best walking tours i have joined, he even prepared some of the pictures to show us on the history as well as the map. Highly recommend to join his tour !

We took two walking tours with Neno. One in the morning that covered general Sarajevo history and architecture and one in the afternoon that discussed the war history. Each tour was about two hours in length and both are must when visiting Sarajevo. The afternoon tour was especially important and informative. As someone who lived through the siege of Sarajevo as a child, Neno had really great insight as to how this terrible time in history affected and continues to effect local people. Please take the time to learn your history when in Sarajevo, this is the best way to do it!

My brother and I joined two tours with Neno today. We can not recommend this highly enough. Neno was very knowledgeable and obviously passionate about his city. The tours felt fresh and engaging even though he must have done them many times before. We really felt that he enjoys being an ambassador to the city, relating the history, struggles and most importantly the future of Sarajevo (and the country) in a unique way. This really was one of the highlights during our trip to the Balkans. If you do anything while in Sarajevo, take one, or better yet both, of these tours.

I've checked the war tour and it was overwhelmed. The balance was perfect. You get some info about the bigger picture of the war but also you will get know better the war through personal stories. After this tour you can teach your history teacher I guess :)

I attended the war and scars tour with Jelena (I think that’s her name, not sure) as our guide and I learnt a whole lot about the recent history of this country. It’s very eye-opening and thought-provoking. You learn a whole lot about Bosnia and hear it from someone who has gone through it. Kudos to our guide, I love how candid and honest she is when she was doing the tour. Totally different from all others but that’s what makes her stand out- authentic.

We did two walking tours, East meets West with Neno and the war tour with Merima. Both of them were extremely fulfilling experiences.

Neno was very knowledgeable with a great command over his subject and had the depth to cover all our very probing questions. Great food for the mind.

However, Merima touched our hearts. Her presentation of the war, its effects on the citizens and the children of Sarajevo, and its impact on the economy and politics of Bosnia, was both touching and hugely insightful. We were all very emotional by the end, her too. You have our greatest respect for keeping the memories of the victims of war alive. I am sure it must be hard for you. I hope my daughters 'Sarajevo rose' brings a smile and reminds you of our gratitude. We will not forget either.

With promises to spread the word of Neno and Friends and of Sarajevo.

We did both the "east meets west" and the "war scars & New Times' walking tour with Neno. The group was rather large, maybe 35 people, but Neno had a pocket loud speaker so it was very easy to hear and his English was perfect and clear. As we walked the city Neno made sure the group stayed together and also answered any questions we had. The best part Neno was 7 when the war started and 11 when it ended getting the perspective of someone that saw the war through a child's eye was priceless. I highly recommend taking both tours if you are in Sarajevo.

Neno's 2 hour walking tour gives you a detailled view on Sarajevo and its main historical periods. Any question can be asked, even about the difficult times of the siege 92-95. You'll get an honest answer. If in Sarajevo contact Neno. A must do.
