“Huge rooms, comfortable beds, decaf coffee at breakfast”
Reviewed 4 November 2013

Stayed there for 2 nights; I must say it's an excellent hotel: rooms are spacious, the shower also very big, fridge, air-condition, safe included, beds and pillows are extremely comfortable. Fitness and the pool are included in the price, so pack your swim suit. Breakfast is quite rich, the only minus is the coffee at the breakfast - it's not real (it's chicory), so you must get you caffeine somewhere else, e.g. the hotel bar (I think a 4 star hotel could do better than that).
Wi-fi connection is excellent, even in the rooms.
It's close to the tram station (about 5 min walk) at Ilidza, where you can take the tram to the centre of Sarajevo (the trip takes 30-40 min, because the tram stops at every station).

Stayed here on a tour, so compared to other places we had stayed, his was luxury. Very comfortable beds. Nice clean bathroom. The Breakfast buffet was quite good quality but the coffee was not good. Lifts and ramps to floors. Did not get a chance to use any of the hotel's facilities unfortunately as it was only a short overnight stop. The hotel is around a 10-15min bus ride from town, and a few minutes walk from a a tram stop.

Spa & Hotel Terme has several building on the one sprawling complex - I stayed at the recently renamed "Crystal" building (formerly Hungaria) across a delightful park from the "Austria" building also owned by the Terme Hotel. It was a slow shoulder season (late spring) so we had good service from the hotel staff and things were relatively quiet. The rooms in the Terme (Crystal building) were well-appointed, clean, with nice bathrooms, valuables safe, and my window opened onto the fountain park. WiFi was functional - not very fast but workable. Breakfast was available before the advertised time even (thanks!). What really stood out for me was the setting and the spa.

The setting is close to the airport and downtown (Sarajevo is compact) but more importantly the Ilidza section of Sarajevo is beautiful. There is a park that hosts the source of the Bosna river about 4km walk from the hotel. But the walk itself is along a verdant, tree-lined straight avenue. Many people congregate here because it's nice, and there's a family atmosphere, with restaurants and cafes surrounding the area near the hotel. Great for runners - many choices of long, straight flat routes to run.

The spa is also very large, and located in the main "Terme" building. It was going through a very large renovation during my stay, but the spa remained open. A colleague of mine said the massage and physiotherapy services offered by the spa are outstanding. This is definitely a very European spa, with a full array of medical services available. I used the gym - it was quite large and had a variety of equipment. The stationery bikes were battered and missing a few bits but most of them worked, and there were large TVs to keep you entertained, though ventilation could be improved. The pool is very small and shallow and not really suitable for anything other than wallowing. But the staff are attentive, offering fresh towels and advice. It's an impressive facility and obviously attracts tourists from around Europe and the Middle East.

Room Tip: if you're in the Austria or Crystal building, ask for a room overlooking the fountain park/round...

I only had one night at this hotel which was enough for me.
No air conditioning in the rooms, and it was extremely hot therefore we had to sleep with the windows wide open which felt unsafe and also there was the issue with roof top night club a couple of kilometers away that was so loud ALL night. No fans available from reception.
The beds were really uncomfortable aswell.
Breakfast was decent thank goodness.
