“lovely garden in summer”
Reviewed 15 July 2012

This place is lovely to just have a drink with friends or family in the garden, especially in late spring, under the fragrant linden trees. Nice location, nice view to the Cathedral. Food is mediocre, pizza is not bad. Service could be terribly slow sometimes. This year they have taken out more tables in the garden, so it feels more crowded but it's still a nice place to sit out in the evening and chill out.

“Service”
Reviewed 3 July 2012

Today I was with my friends in restaurant Mama Mia in Sofia, Bulgaria. After we order our food and drinks, the cutleries were through on the table very rude and carelessly. But we said 'Thank you' to the waiter (nevertheless he didn't tell us Good evening when we arrived). But that was not all. When we pay the bill, he give us 2 leva less and just disappear. That was the worst service I had ever seen. I am highly disappointed by the service of this restaurant. Except that the food was good.

“Very good for Bulgarian food too”
Reviewed 20 August 2011

The name suggests that they just do pizzas, but in fact they do Bulgarian food too. On the recommendation of a waitress, who said it was their speciality, I had chicken gyuvech - a sort of Bulgarian stew, cooked in a clay pot in the oven, which turned out delicious.

Perhaps slightly more expensive than your average Sofia restaurant, but certainly worth it. The other people eating there looked mostly like prosperous locals. Most of them seemed to be having Bulgarian food too.

It's behind a low hedge just across the road from the Cathedral, with a bit of lawn in front, which gives it a pleasantly quiet, detached air, even though it's right in the middle of town.

Menu in English as well as Bulgarian. Staff speak English too. At any rate my waitress did.

Will definitely go back next time I'm in Sofia.
