I remembered the Tsum from many years ago as a big and beautiful department store where there was not much to buy during the communist years so, when we went again recently I was very excited, hoping to find the same beautiful old building but with nice items to buy inside. The disappointment was huge. Yes, the building is still there, in the center of Sofia, with its marble columns, beautiful ceilings and crystal chandeliers but it is as empty of shops as it is empty of shoppers. This is a real shame because the Tsum Sofia could be as beautiful as Harvey Nichols in London and much more than Bloomingdales in Dubai mall and I hope that soon it will become the fashionable place it deserves to be.
