“Best place for various types of show indoors in Sofia.”
Reviewed 23 February 2014

It is great that we have this place. We can finally visit big gigs or sports shows not only in summer but also in winter.
One big issue- the parking is too small. It is always an adventure to find a parking place around. And if you are late for the gig this can be a disaster.

“Huge place but full of light”
Reviewed 19 February 2014

The place is huge and has some rather modern architecture. This is one of the biggest arenas for shows and concerts in whole of Sofia. Built in 2011, the place was always on my must-visit places when I planned my vacation trip to Sofia. The arena has a seating capacity of 1600 , though the parking place is considerably less. I had rented a car from the central market at Sofia for easy sight-seeing. It was a bad experience parking my car , especially because most folks come in with a car and the place gets all cramped up. The other problem was with the roof which let in too much light during the show. It becomes literally impossible to see the stage with so much light blurring out your vision. The acoustic however were fine enough. We liked the place for its hugeness.

“The arena is huge and I mean huge!”
Reviewed 21 December 2013

It said to be able to hold 12, 000 people but the parking lot can only hold 600 plus cars though which is a big disadvantage when each person would bring a car to an even happening in the arena. Lady gaga also did a concert here once and I loved it but I don’t think the arena would be best for events in the daytime because the light can go directly to your eyes when your seated on a certain part of the arena and it can really hurt your eyes and can take your concentration off whatever you want your attention focused on. The arena is over all modern and had enough access on toilets. I went there during a concert and I should have everyone know that prices are higher than the usual. I was also asked to leave my water bottle outside because they weren’t allowed.

“Great venue”
Reviewed 18 December 2013

It's a great big sized venue, where you can visit some of the biggest concerts and shows in Sofia.

Exit a little bit early when you visit, because it gets crowded and you might have trouble finding a taxi

“Awesome new venue, few parking lots though”
Reviewed 5 July 2013

Relative new and serves a great job for sporting events, music concerts, etc.
The biggest disadvantage is the lack of enough parking lots at the site, as all of these are on ground level, and no underground parking available. As somebody before me wrote here, there are only a few hundred places at the parking and they get taken pretty quickly for huge events, therefore you should expect to park outside on the boulevard (it's safe and allowed at such occasions, so don't worry about your car. And you won't be the only one anyway:))
So for the people who are coming here for the first time and don't have GPS navigation available:
- For people coming from the airport or Trakia highway, the easiest way to follow is by the 8-lane (4 lanes in each direction) boulevard Tsarigradsko shose. First you will pass by the huge "The Mall" mall and business centre complex on your right, some few hundred meters after it you need to turn right and down to the roundabout at Aviation square. You don't need to get into the roundabout, you have to turn right, although my advise here would be useless since at that moment you would have already seen Arena Armeets. Then you just follow the road signs in order to reach the parking lots in front of the hall, or just park on the boulevard if it is already too crammed with people.
- For people coming from the centre by car, from Orlov most ("Eagle's bridge") just drive by the boulevard (again Tsarigradsko shose) for about 4 kilometers, when you pass by Pliska hotel (it would be on your left) get ready to go down to the next roundabout and make a circle to the left. At the moment you're driving down to the roundabout, you would already see the hall on your left. So when you exit the roundabout, you just need to follow the signs to reach the parking..and all the rest applies. :)
- From the airport by bus - use bus #84 (both from Terminals 1 &2 ) and get off at "Aviation square" ("Ploshtad na aviatsiyata")
- From the centre by public transport - by trolleybuses 4, 5, 11 or bus 84 - again get off at "Aviation square". Once you see the hall on your left, prepare to get off. :) There are other buses as well, but it could happen that they may have changed their route as it happens, unlike the ones I have already listed.

One more thing, the venue has many - really enough - toilets, drinks and some junk food is usually offered before and during the event and you should expect prices a bit higher than in shops around the city. You're not allowed to enter with water bottles (precaution measures or incentive to buy water inside?:)), once I went and it was rainy, and the didn't allow me to enter with my umbrella and had to leave it outside at the security check point, but it was OK, I retrieved it pretty quickly afterwards.
The orientation is easy, and even if 12 000 - the full capacity of the seated places - is filled, getting out is well organized and quick. You might expect car traffic jams afterwards though.
