“beautiful church”
Reviewed 20 August 2014

This beautiful Church is just in the heart of Sofia is a must see. It's a beatiful historical and peaceful place. Bare in mind that you should follow a dress code and cover naken shoulders and avoid minishirts. The square around the Cathedral is a good place to buy Bulgarian hand-crafts.

“beautiful exterior”
Reviewed 13 August 2014

This is a very beautiful cathedral on the outside and should be visited at different times of the day for photo ops from several angles. Unfortunately the interior is in need of extensive repair.

“Shade and calm and reverence”
Reviewed 13 August 2014

Worth a visit just for the shade and calm and reverent atmopshere it provides. You can also amuse youself by watching the attendents decked out in oversized black lab coats who shuffle around stopping people taking photos and getting rid of any candles that have burned past the halfway mark. One of them looks like a greying Frank Zappa. There is not much seating although you can sit on benches around the edges to marvel at the hugeness of the place. The faded mosiacs and dusty painted walls actually add to the holy smokey ambiance.

“must see.”
Reviewed 12 August 2014

The beating heart of Sofia. Take the time to sit in the hush of this place. A beautiful, tranquil spot for reflection, prayer of meditation.

“Main sight of Sofia”
Reviewed 12 August 2014

Certainly a unique piece of architecture. Wander around the awe-inspiring inside and marvel at the numerous very detailed paintings.
