everything in this hotel is very nice and very good indeed, however there is nothing that is 5 out of 5, but everything is a 4 out of 5..
location isn't bad
food is good but not very good
rooms are good but not brilliant
wifi is ok but has its moments
staff are very good (this particular trip they have all been excellent in all fairness

I would defo recommend this hotel purely for the value, as its very well priced indeed...

I stayed in this hotel last weekend. Quite classy and luxury interior. My room was excellent and I loved that they took consideration of my pillow request, Great chat at reception- George was very helpful and sent me to a good massage :).
The restaurant has a new menu- with oriental dishes and loads of vegetarian options. I would recommend the wine list, as it seems they own their wineries and the prices are ridiculously cheap for the qualities of the wines. I got a wine I can't remember the name of, but it had few medals for under 20 EU....
Good WIFI and look onto Vitosha mountain. Few cozy places to set your meetings if you want to. Do go there if you are in a quick business stop in Sofia.

Room Tip: looking onto the mountain of course

I stayed at this hotel in mid January for a business trip. The company I work for was running a seminar at the Festa hotel, which was very well organised - they had really thought of every detail! The staff were always on hand and were friendly and helpful - we had some difficulties connecting to the wifi but this was very quickly resolved.
Overall, I had a very pleasant stay. My room was spacious, comfortable and clean, and the location of the hotel is really good - it is situated close to a big shopping centre and the city centre is a short taxi ride away. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Sofia, it is excellent value for money!

This is a great place to stay when you are on a business trip and your office is nearby. The hotel is nice, it's up to it's standart, it's clean and cozy, the rooms are nicely furnished and comfortable and they oofer a (not-so-cheap) transfer from the airport. The staff id friendly and helpfull, like most Bulgarians, but not everyone speaks English, you will do fine in the reception, but in the bar or during breakfast you may face some difficulties, nevertheless, it did not make us uneasy. What we did not enjoy, was the sleep quality, firstly, you cannot sleep with your window open as there is considerable noise coming as the hotel is on a sort of a highway, but even that is ok considering the climate control system in the room, what was not ok is the mattress and the pillows, it was one of the most uncomfortable sleeps I have ever had. They have spring mattresses, which I assume are quite old as well as their pillows, they really really need new ones. Both of the mornings I woke up feeling like I was broaken, my shoulders and neck felt sore, it's very hard to work after having such sleep. However if you are not a very spoiled sleeper or if you are OK with a spring mattress, you will be fine.

The Festa hotel is 5 minutes from my office so I stay there each month. This review is based on consistent experiences rather than one-off good/bad incidents.

This is a 3 star hotel by Western standards.

Rooms are clean but dated with old square televisions with local channels.
The showers require anyone over 5'4" to do the limbo to wash their hair and are poorly fitted so you cannot take advantage of the pressure without them pushing out of position. (I recommend you move the towels from the rail at the end of the bath before you shower.)
There is only one set of towels for single occupancy so if you want to shower after a long trip and the following morning you will need to order in more.
The minibar is a packet of almonds, 2 chocolate bars and some drinks.

Breakfast appears to comprise the cheapest products available and I've found even the jam inedible. Croissants, rolls and butter are fine. You will need to search for a clean table.

The restaurant is understandably empty with salt being the main ingredient in most dishes, however, right across the road is the excellent Tavan with rooftop views over the city and good food at a reasonable price. You'd probably eat there anyway.

There is no bar. The pictures on the website show tables opposite the lifts. You could drink there but no-one does. The piano bar is currently closed.

The staff, we have concluded, must be forced to work their against their will. They are impolite, bordering on rude, and I've not seen a smile in almost a year.

The location is about 10 minutes taxi to the town centre and a short walk to the Bulgaria Mall. There are a couple of local bars and restaurants in this area (Beso is recommended). It is 20 Leva from the Airport and about 15 - 20 minutes.

If you just want a safe, clean place to sleep in this location you cannot beat the price. If you're looking for a greater level of hospitality or facilities I would suggest the Hilton at the other end of Bulgaria Blvd. Central Park hotel is between the two with few facilities and a bit dated but a friendly reception and clean rooms at a modest price.
