Description: "Restaurant AGAVA" - a place where fine dining truly meets a casual atmosfere. This is very special place, a bit hidden, a bit shy...A classic Italian restaurant filled with subtle dark colours and distinctive lightning. Wide windows provide an unique view, and in spring and summer the green terrace will attract you immediately. The restaurant was opened in 2005. It is runned by Belizar Milos (owner/partner) who is also the main chef, responsible for many mediterranean delices and beyond. So, come to the number 39 of Tklaciceva street... It'll take you 39 staircases to come to your little hiding place.

“A great find”
Reviewed 26 June 2014 via mobile

Great location, easy to find and has delightful atmosphere. Service was out standing (friendly, jovial, yet absolutely professional). When I requested a single G&T in a tall glass, rather than risk getting it wrong, our waiter delivered all the tools and ingredients, perfectly presented, so that I could build the perfect gin just how I like it. The meal was excellent, great flavours, good portion size, nice presentation. Very affordable & good value. One of the best meals in 3 weeks of travelling in Croatia.

“A happy surprise”
Reviewed 23 June 2014

we just arrived in Zagreb and could not get a reservation in any of the top restaurants. We walked around sightseeing in the rain when we happened to be near Agava. The rain stopped and we decided to check if anything was available. A patio table was and we happily sat down. Food was excellent as was service. We ordered several local dishes and got good recommendations on local wine which helped us later in the trip.

“Great food, good location, good value”
Reviewed 20 June 2014 via mobile

Just above the main drag of cafés, bars and restaurants. This smart place produces a different take on old local standards. Just accept the advice of the self-aware maître d' / sommelier and you won't regret it. Prepare to laugh as he samples each bottle of wine he brings himself and maybe decants it too. Quite a performance. Not cheap by Croatian standards but great value and much less than in the UK. Glad we went there, recommended.

“Exceptional from start to finish”
Reviewed 16 June 2014

This place was simply stunning. The service was absolute perfection. The meal was incredible: octopus salad followed by a delicious dish of veal medallions. The night ended with a poached pear dessert and espresso accompanied by a complimentary local prosek. Stunning. Best meal in ages!
