Description: "Restaurant AGAVA" - a place where fine dining truly meets a casual atmosfere. This is very special place, a bit hidden, a bit shy...A classic Italian restaurant filled with subtle dark colours and distinctive lightning. Wide windows provide an unique view, and in spring and summer the green terrace will attract you immediately. The restaurant was opened in 2005. It is runned by Belizar Milos (owner/partner) who is also the main chef, responsible for many mediterranean delices and beyond. So, come to the number 39 of Tklaciceva street... It'll take you 39 staircases to come to your little hiding place.

Had dinner at this wonderful little place. No reservation, so they told me to go across the street and have a drink until they had a table for me. Took about 20 min for a table to open. I had a nice table on the terrace overlooking the street. The server, Paedrag, was outstanding. He selected great wine for my meal. I had the burrata cheese starter and the duck breast for dinner. Both were incredible. They had the world cup match projected onto the wall of the building next door for the people to watch. That was a pleasant little diversion without detracting from the meal. This place is a must visit. Very reasonably priced, especially considering the quality of the food.

From the moment we arrived we were greated with impeccable service and seated at a beautiful outdoor table. We read about Agava on trip advisor and were not disappointed. We called a few hours before dinner and made a reservation (it seemed very busy so I recommend making a reservation and requesting an outdoor table on one of the upper patios). We were seated outside on a small private patio that overlooked the street. The waiter was very knowledgeable in the menu and recommended we get the ethnic croatian foods. To start we all shared two orders of Croatian truffle pasta and cheese and pasta pockets. Get the pastas for appetizers! For the mains we had the steak, tuna, a Croatian beef dish and paperdelle. Everybody finished their entire meals. For dessert we tried the cheese cake, semifreddo and a fig dessert. The waiters also gave us some dessert wines on the house to finish up dinner. Overall it was an amazing dinner to end of our trip!

We had an excellent dinner at Agava. The food was to die for. The Croatian pasta with black truffles was delicious, as was the Croatian-style antipasto for entrée, and the Duck a l'Orange with potatoes Dauphinoise (fun to say) was absolutely scrumptious, topped off with a very reasonably priced and very reasonable local Rose. The location was brilliant, right in the middle of Tkalčićeva, the colourful night-life strip of Zagreb, and while it was fairly pricey by Zagreb standards, it was still very affordable. The service was friendly and efficient, and we were struck by the overall high standard and the professionalism of the staff. Highly recommended.

We went early on in the evening for a meal, atmosphere wasn't great to start because it was so quiet, but our waiter quickly made up for that! Drinks were served quickly, and food followed soon after, beautifully presented and tasted gorgeous. Couldn't fault the flavor at all. If your going, try the semmi-freddo for dessert! Amazing! Would definitely recommend going here.

The location is excellent as it's on a great walking strip with lots of shops and restaurants. The dinner was really delicious. We probably spent about $70 for dinner for two. The service was attentive and friendly. Highly recommend.
