“Sheraton Zagreb – OK if you do not expect 5 star hotel”
Reviewed 2 February 2009

Location is good, walking distance to the city center. Rooms are bit run down with visible stains. If you expect 5 star hotel – this is NOT a 5 star hotel. Room price was adequate, we definitely got what we paid for. Breakfast was above the average and stuff was helpful and friendly. I would go back if we would get good room rates. Westin Zagreb is much nicer but also much more expensive.

Sheraton Hotel is nice but nothing more.

Poor young staff unhelpful as i was looking for good bars and restaurants, they did not do anything to indicate me adresses, they did not care about customers, the staff is so boring that the best way is to go outside the hotel, there were always nobodyat the bar and the restaurant inside the hotel , the prices at the bar and restaurant are scandalously expensive and between 25%-50% more expensive than in a bar or restaurant in the center of Zagreb.

The breakfast was not included and it was 160 kunas (!) for the buffet, very expensive for a breakfast to have cold bacon, cold eggs and limited choice.

The blanket inside the room are not changed and the room are cleaning very fast by the staff who is really not nice, doesn't have a speaking attitude and is not gifted.

My stay in this hotel was really boring and i will never be back neither in this hotel nor in Croatia, in this country people are awful, unpolite, cold and with no interest, Zagreb is an ugly city, forget Sheraton, forget Croatia, there are many places less expensive, with more nice people and really more interesting.

The hotel's location is exceptional, but was turned off by the pool area. Many burned out lights in the locker room, the toilets were covered by tape and not working, stained ceiling, the water in the pool didn't seem to clean either. Needs some TLC.

we spent two nights at the Sheraton in Zagreb. I must say 5-star is a bit of over-estimation. We were freezing - there was about 65 F in the room. there was no heating, and because the AC unit could only cool the room, and the windows were sealed (cos of the noisy street) there was no fresh air either. The TV did not work, the bathrobe was missing and although there was free internet connection, the cable was missing. I gave up complaining but I did ask about the heating (even asked for a mobile heating unit) and they promised to switch on the central heating system. Unfortunately, nothing happened. I think a 5-star hotel cannot afford all this. I will definitely not go there next time.

Location - spot on.Staff-professional and efficient.Room-comfortable,clean and well maintained.I used the pool and jacuzzi every morning to set me up for sight-seeing(and drinking).Eating and drinking in the hotel is a bit pricey compared to the rest of Zagreb but not as bad as one might expect. No negatives from me on this hotel.

Was moved here from Westin, after water closure at Westin. Paid 135 € / night including breakfast. Which was the same as Westin, but Westin is ten times nicer!

The hotel was very quiet, but I was not given preffered room, even though I have elite status with SPG. Was given a horrible room on the second floor, the room next to mine was a Marriott office (!!!). The room was totally outdated, something mid 80s I guess. The bed was a joke, a total dump! The website stated the rooms have the Sheraton Sweet Sleeper bed, but this bed was so tired that you could see the formation of where people have been sleeping. Horrible! The bathroom was small and outdated too! Going from Westin to Sheraton was a shocking experience!

The service was typical of the Balkans, no smiles, no laughter...just robots doing their job. Nobody goes out of their way to make you feel at home.

The gym was nice enough though, and the breakfast was very good. The location was excellent, close to the sights, restaurants, main square, bus station, cinema, railway station, public transportation, etc.

I would not recommend this hotel to anybody. I would rather recommend the Westin - which is bookable at the same price and conditions. Actually, I would rather spend 20 € more per night and stay at the Regent, which is an excellent property. The only downside with the Regent is that they don't have a swimmingpool....

Great location. Rooms were small and due for an upgrade, half the staff were outstanding the other half were just average. Great place to stay if you are looking to explore Zagreb.
