“Good tranditional hotel”

Old hotel but is traditional one. Equipment is new, so you won't feel old there.

Good location as you can walk to old town and rail station in 10 mins, and there is a park beside.

Service is fair but after compared the price, still worth to live here.

We both loved this hotel and the view and the city. Room was nice and clean in a continental classical style. The lobby, restaurant, and halls were in an Art Deco wood style as was the exquisite staircase. Marble floors and lilies set the mood.

Food was great at breakfast in the hotel. We also had a late night meal at the attached corner restaurant which was outstanding.

The city itself was clean, nice, and safe. Plenty of photogenic tourist sites within walking distance and the city square was close. The hop on and off bus picks up close by and even goes almost right by the hotel. Parking was either on the street or there was an enclosed garage about a block away. The only negative.

I would happily stay again.

We visited as part of a small group tour. My notes describe the ambience of this hotel as 'old world charm.' It once was a private palace, now converted to a comfortable hotel. The lobby and atrium feature dark wood and stained glass. Yes, as one reviewer noted, there are a few steps in the lobby between street level up to the main desk. But, the interior has been renovated and rooms updated. It smelled fresh and clean. Two small elevators take guests up to their rooms. Our room #406 featured a mini bar, flat screen TV, large bath with tub, and comfortable king bed. We accessed the Internet for emails. From our window, we could see part of Strossmayer Square. The breakfast buffet was extensive and tasty. Service both at the main desk and breakfast was superb.

The hotel's location was an added bonus. It is located on a main street between Jelacica Square and the Train Station, with each approximately a 10 minute walk. Ample shopping is located in a huge shopping center below the train station and along Ilica Street. Nearby restaurants are only a few blocks away. We especially liked Pizzeria Lira at Teslina 5 and Millennium for ice cream at Bogoviceva 7. Further afield, within about 20 minute walk, is Mirni Kutic Restaurant #57 on the popular Tkalciceva Street. Of course, the hotel is also within walking distance of most major tourist sights. Trams #6 and 13 run past the hotel as well. Another bonus was the free live music and dancing that we discovered near the gazebo in Strassmayer Square

Our only regret was that we could only stay three nights!

Old, weirdly configured facility, hastily adapted for hotel. To get from the first floor reception to the first floor room, you'd have to climb up the stairs, take a tiny elevator, walk about 60 meters then up the stairs, then down the stairs. No assistance with the luggage ever mentioned. The room is tiny. The mattress and the breakfast are adequate. The location is excellent, within the walking distance to all Zagreb's sites. But there is not many sites in Zagreb to visit, you can cover all Zagreb's tourist attractions in one day, and there are not many modern hotels in Zagreb either. You will get much better value, if you stay somewhere else and take the tram or the taxi.

A beautiful building- apparently the oldest hotel in Zagreb. Great central location within short walking distance to main sites, restaurants etc. Their beds were the most comfortable beds on our entire 5 week international holiday. The staff were helpful and informative and the hotels spa provided a very good massage. Would return if ever visiting Zagreb again.

Not having the old charm and luxury normally associated to Palace Hotels in other capital cities, this is a very comfortable Palace! Located right in the center of Zagreb, not far from the train station, the Palace is a bit old fashion but very cozy. The breakfast is also very good, with a great variety of food on offer.
