Essential to visit the museum if you want to acquire the Croatian perspective of historical events that have affected this resilient European state.

Worth a visit - a bit difficult to find as the entrance is round a back street, not in the street in which the address appears, but there is always a helpful tourist policeman somewhere near who will point you in the right direction. I had thought that the museum would be about the history of Croatia, as the title applies, but it is misleading: it is mainly about the Homeland War. Nothing about culture, folklore etc. So worth it if you are young enough not to remember about that time, or as a quick refresher if you were. We were a bit disappointed as we had reallywanted to visit it in order to learn about the whole history, so we just had the information in the Lonely Planet to go on. Much information is in English. It is included in the Zagreb card, if you bought one.

I visited the museum but found that it only has one exhibition and it doesnt cover the history of the nation which is what you would expect given its name.

I did go around and learn a little but not sufficient to learn about a country.

I always make a point of finding out info about a nation that I visit. As a result of this museum i no the nothing of Croatia. Not good.

This museum is really about the Homeland War. It is a very good and informative exhibit, but I had also wanted to learn about Croatia's history before that, see some of the country's art, learn about the folklore, etc. It turns out that part of the exhibit is not on display.

This is a little museum but very informative. The current exhibition focuses on the Homeland War, and it has much memorabilia, interesting videos, a lot of datas you can reflect on. The people were ultra nice, giving us chairs to sit in front of the videos, being available for questions. We spent a couple of hours taking it all in, and we found it really worth it.
