If you go in Zagreb for business this is not the place. But if you go to have fun--it's ok. The way it's designed is interesting. It's perfect for young people, couples, blast-escape. There is a good bar in it with live music and a steak house, which is not bad at all. Full of young, pretty nice people from Zagreb. The show starts at 11.00PM when the band starts playing. The waiters are great guys. The ladies at the reception are not very fluent in English but at the end you are not angry--they try to be max. helpful and cheer.

Room Tip: Don't take a room at the first floor--you can hear the music from the band. You better go downst...

I had some concerns when booking this hotel after reading some of the reviews. After my stay, I find that I cannot relate some of the negative comments to my own experiences. This is a perfectly pleasant hotel. The single room I had was on the small size, but very clean and with a really comfortable bed. The bathroom is small, but the shower was powerful enough and the water was hot. I managed to get a quick look at a double room and it looked to be a good size. I found all the staff to be friendly, although their English was not the most fluent (but still a hundred times better than my Croatian). In summary, this is not a 3 star hotel offering 5 star facilities, but neither is it a 1 star hotel charging 3 star prices. For the price, it represents very good value for money. The general area itself is a bit boring, but there are some reasonable bars and restaurants within strolling distance. Getting into the centre of the city takes about 20 minutes by tram (6, 14 or 17) and there is a tram stop right outside the hotel. Getting to the hotel from the airport is easy - take the Croatian Airlines bus from the airport to the Central bus station then a number 5 tram in the direction of Precko. If you keep looking out of the left side, you will pass the hotel after 15 minutes and the stop is 100 yards down the road. The airport buses run both ways at 30 minutes intervals departing from both the airport and the bus station on the hour and the half hour and the journey takes 20 to 30 minutes depending on the traffic. Trams run at 10 minute intervals.

This is an OK Hotel for a stay in Zagreb but it's nothing special. The double room we had was basic but clean and reasonably comfortable. The bathroom was more than adeqate. It's a fair way out of central Zagreb but a tram stop is conveniently located right out the front for the 15 or so minute ride into town. At the same stop (but going in the other direction) are trams to the bus station.

Didn't actually see many staff, apart from a few at breakfast. The reception staff were quite anonymous.

Breakfast is an adequate Euopean buffet served in the pub at the bottom. On the plus side it offers several hot options - not all at the budget end do. The pub itself looks OK but we didn't drink there - we were told that there were better (and cheaper) options close by. The Mexican restaurant across the road is recommended, particulary if you don't feel like travelling very far for dinner.

I stayed here as part of a group tour so had no choice in where we stayed. If I returned to Zagreb I would probably choose elsewhere.

We had one of the 'dependansas' which I'd already gleaned from other reviews means 'in the weird warehouse out back'. And it is weird.... dodge round the 4 deep goods vans parked outside, to enter a warehouse with boxes stacked in front of you and travel up to the top floor in a lift with carpeted walls and ceiling! The rooms themselves were quite modern however, and clean and well heated. It actually turned out that it's probably better to be in those rooms, as the bar underneath the hotel was still in full swing at 3am on the Saturday night, so the ones in the actual hotel may have been pretty noisy.

The location is pretty convenient, with the Prisavje stop directly outside for trips into the city and a bit down the road for the way back. Staff were helpful, keeping our bags for us on the last day and calling us a taxi back to the airport (which was actually cheaper if there are 3/4 of you than getting the airport bus). We also liked the Biker's Beer Pub almost opposite.

Room Tip: go for the strange warehouse rooms!

I didn't mind so much the broken elevator, and the three flight walk up to the "second floor", though I did find it fascinating that no one was looking into fixing it. I did mind the roaches on the breakfast spread though. When I showed the waiter he took the plate to the back and then brougtht it out again, as if they changed all the food on the plate. Roaches came out from under the coffee machine a few days later. There is an outdoor area in the back yard that is nice.
