This is an Orthodox church and is right at the Central Park in Chisinau. I went inside but photography is not allowed so I took a photo of the altar from the outside.

There is a belfry and a fountain just outside. Nice to watch doves flying around and children running after the doves in the premises.

The main cathedral of the Moldovan Orthodox Church in Chisinau, it was built in the 1830s in a Neoclassical style. The stark white exterior with six Doric pillars is elegant, regal, and timeless. Its simplicity belies the over-the-top interior. Intricately and colorfully decorated inside, the church boasts rich frescoes in blue, green and gold that cover the walls. A large gold iconostasis, that separates the nave from the sanctuary, is absolutely stunning! No photos are allowed inside, which is such a shame since one cannot remember all the details.

This cathedral was truly a sensory overload!!!

While by no means historic, this cathedral is a fine example of its kind. Lavishly decorated inside, pleasingly symmetric outside, it has a central position in the city. Well cared for and clearly revered by the locals who come for a quick prayer.

Most important Romanian orthodox church in Moldova. Moldova land captured by Russian red army and never given back.

I've been to so many Orthodox churches around Europe and I feel that this one is not that impressive. However, if you haven't been to one before and bearing in mind that this one is the center of religious life in Moldova, you might feel impressed. Anyway, it's worth a look if you're passing by and you will eventually as it's centrally located opposite the House if Parliament and just beside the Triumphial Arch. They didn't seem to have a dress code and I did see people entering in shorts, but I believe one should pay respect and be properly dressed.
