Reviewed 23 August 2012

Stayed here for a couple of nights and it was fine. The hotel is centrally located and the room was quiet and decently sized, if rather dated and the aircon wasn't very effective. Reception staff were friendly. The breakfast buffet was pretty average.

I had read reviews on Dacia and wasn't really sold. I stayed at Hotel Bella Donna for a day and then switched over to Dacia and it was ten times better!!!! My room was pretty basic - think of it as an equivalent to a US La Quinta or Best Western. For Moldova, that's pretty good. The location is central to everything (the US Embassy is only about 2-3 blocks away so I felt safe as well). The free hotel breakfast every morning was great. Wireless was pretty fast. The receptionists all spoke english and accepted payment in Visa, Mastercard, or American dollars. I was very happy with this place and will be staying again.

Room Tip: Try to get a room next to the WiFi modem for quicker internet access.

I tink they have improved since some of the earlier reviews.

My room was fine, with nice new bathroom etc. Good buffet breakfast. Handy location. No complaints.

I had expected much more basic for Moldova, which is not a rich country.

Not an impressive price/value ratio, there are better deals available. Everything is a bit outdated.
Location is central, but this is the only advantage.

Stayed at the Dacia for 1 night in Oct 09. The hotel is a bit dated and the room was very basic although clean. The breakfast was really poor though and the hotel is really not a four star. However, for one night it was acceptable.

The Dacia is a throw back from the old Soviet regime and is one of the last State owned hotels in Moldova. Unfortunately, the Dacia and its staff have not yet made the transition to a modern customer based standard. There are guards on every floor and my room was searched on several occasions. The front desk staff is unresponsive and will not provide a print out of your bill, expecting you to take their word for your charges. I was insistant and found out that I had extra charges for a bottle of cognac, and several international phone calls!!!! I stayed at the Dacia for 12 days (no other options, I was on a business package) and complained on day 3 that the restaurant linens had not been changed since I had arrived. On day 12, they still had not. The same dirty napkins were just refolded for the next customer.

I will visit Moldova again but avoid the Dacia.
