“Smart, clean and modern”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 April 2011

It is smart, clean, modern and centrally located with charming attentive staff. Rooms were comfortable, spacious, clean and well equipped. We ventured out on foot to one of many restaurants within walking distance and enjoyed the vast range of offerings in the hotel at breakfast. Despite a busy bar and central location, the room (and the air-conditioning) is perfectly quiet. They have an amazing spa that unfortunately due to our time constraints we couldn’t make use of. In general, I’d recommend a stay here!

Very impressed with my short stay at the Radisson. Everything is within walking distance. The service was prompt and professional. The value was good compared with most European destinations. Would definitely recommend.

I would like to share one detail which unfortunately ruined all the great impressions of this splendid hotel. I almost forgot this terrible experience but it came to my mind as currently I’m planning a business trip to Bucharest again.

I was staying at Radisson Blu Hotel Bucharest almost two months in summer 2009 for business. During the whole stay I was enjoying all the advantages of this hotel – centrally located, delicious and extensive selection of breakfast buffet, free Wi-Fi, very modern design, big rooms, fantastic fitness centre with 25m lane swimming pool, cleanness all around.

This paradise turned into a real nightmare when it was my final check-out. I was checking out every Friday morning to go home for the weekend and always used one credit card, but when it was final check-out I had to use another one as my first was out of money with quite expensive overdraft. The receptionist charged this second card, I signed the card slip and left Bucharest.

There is no sense to explain how much I was surprised when got my credit cards monthly statements and saw that both cards were charged by the same amount of 2132.09 RON (513.13 EUR)…then it followed several months of discussions and explanations from Radisson Service Managers and Accounting Department. I provided them with all possible copies of my hotel invoices, credit cards statements, proving that they charged both of my cards with the same amount. In the beginning they were trying to resolve, without excusing by the way, just forwarding my mail from one staff to another and putting me in copies. The final mail from accounting department was saying that “I spoke with our bank and on your creditcard there are no transactions”- my further questions regarding the numbers of credit cards they checked in their bank were ignored both by the Accounting Department and Service Managers. Either the number of my first credit card stayed in the memory of hotel computer and it was charged automatically or there are another ways of client payments manipulations, anyway this story and further investigation was quite time consuming, nervous and really humiliating for me, not saying that money loosing.

I believe that such an attitude to a person who staying in the hotel for two months and paying 14,470 RON (3,449 EUR) only for lodging, excluding laundry, room service etc. is at least unacceptable and made me perceive all the Radisson Blu Hotel Bucharest amenities no more than just “showing off” that has nothing to do with five-star hotel service.

Stayed here for a conference and it was excellent all around - great breakfast buffet (really extensive selection), free wifi, nice rooms, comfy beds, really cool bar/lounge in the lobby. And very centrally located to walk to restaurants or visit the city!

Possibly the best premium quality hotel in Bucharest. The staff are very polite and willing to assist the hotel's guests in every possible way (though sometimes I felt that they were a bit too friendly and a bit less professional).

The room was big, clean, but the concept of a "double bed" is equal to that of two twin beds put together. Therefore, if one moves a lot when sleeping, one can't help but eventually falling into the gay between the two beds. The bathroom was clean, too but to get some additional appliances, one has to ring the reception. Also, the towels, while being big and clean were showing their age.

A real highlight of this hotel is its breakfast: simply amazing. An excellent choice of food, drinks (though no freshly squeezed juices), coffee, pastries, etc. My rate included the breakfast, but from what I have heard, otherwise, it is 25 EUR. The hotel also offers wi-fi (I found the signal somewhat too weak for business purposes) and a swimming pool. Overall, a very pleasant stay, but with room for improvement.

This hotel is in a very good and safe location.
The staff was friendly, polite and efficient.
The atmosphere was great in the public areas.
My room was clean with a great view, comfortable bed and covers and was warm and quiet.
Bathroom modern, smelled nice and was super clean!
Restaurants and bars where fine.
Spa is small and the gym-indoor pool-jacuzzi is a next door gym that's busy and loud...
Free internet is a big plus!
