The hotel is well situated, in Amzei Market, 1-2 min.walk from Romana Square, Atheneum, and 5-10 min walk from University Square or Victoria Square. Various public transpotation in area. Nearest subway stop in Romana Square. The taxi is cheap in Bucharest, but be aware at fake taxis or overpriced one. The price is written on the door. The hotel is clean and the stuff is very nice and helpfull. Take it with breakfast included. Avoid rooms near reception or on the ground floor because are noisy. The rooms are good for a 3 stars hotel but the prices are very high. So it is a nice and well situated hotel but very expensive.

This excellent value hotel is a little gem tucked away in a quiet back street of Bucharest but close to all amenities. It only has a small number of rooms being an old house which has been tastefully renovated. The rooms are beautiful and large with high ceilings. They are well furnished without being lavish.

The only question mark may be over the air conditioning being slightly inadequate for the size of room. There are no tea/coffee making facilities in the room and shaving is a problem due to the mirror being set back from the basin and no shaving mirror. Tissues are not provided.

Breakfast was quite minimal but adequate, although it was difficult to judge as there were few guests. They do provide fried eggs or omelettes though. It’s advisable, if you make the same mistake as my companion and I did, by not including breakfast in the cost to have it elsewhere as we were charged 69 Leu (about £14) each which is steep. In those circumstance it would probably be best to go to the excellent Promus Irish bar nearby where breakfast is cheap and is a great place for everything. There are excellent restaurants and bars in the vicinity.

Do not for one moment though be put off the Amzei because it is a delightful family run atmospheric establishment where all the staff are very polite and friendly. The youngsters are slightly timid and ponderous but they will improve with experience.

Over all I would have no hesitation in thoroughly recommending this hotel.

Room tip: I had a room at the front and it was very quiet although it was the Orthodox Easter at the time and the city was generally quite deserted.

Stayed in the Amzei following a receommendation from a friend who lives in Bucharest. There were four of us in the party and we were not disapointed. The hotel was very comftable and the staff could not have been more helpful.

This boutique hotel is a real find - tucked away in a fairly quiet street but close to the heart of the city. The rooms are a good size and very comfortably furnished, with large bathrooms and plenty of wardrobe space. Although the rooms alone would be enough to make the hotel a must for returning travellers, where it excels even more is in its staff. They were all extrememly helpful and nothing seemed too much trouble for them. Both the reception and the bar staff were excellent but special mention must go to Adina, the delightful breakfast waitress, who seemed to really love looking after her guests and ensuring they had everything they wanted. The hotel even has its own mini bus, so transfers are arranged smoothly. Highly recommended.

Absolutely fabulous hotel, excellent location (easy, 20 minute walk to old town pedestrian area), market nearby, shops, cafes and restaurants nearby. Very comfortable beds, clean, recent updates to hotel, adept staff. Highly recommended.

Room tip: Excellent value for an up-market hotel, great location, highly recommended.
