If you don't need a swimming pool, crowded bar, health club, etc., this is an excellent alternative for staying in Bucharest. As mentioned in the other reviews, it is centrally located (within blocks of the Athene Palace Hilton and Radisson Blu) and the staff is courteous and very accommodating. Parking may be an issue, so inquire about it when you make your reservation if you plan t o arrive by car. They have a small bar where you can accommodate guests, if need be and are quite resourceful in providing help in other areas. The hotel is tastefully decorated with a number of clever and touches, such as glass floors and humorous artworks. Breakfast service includes a nice buffet and fresh omelets made to order. I stayed in one of the Executive Suites in the newer extension to the main house. It was tastefully decorated and spacious and the price was quite reasonable compared to the mainstream hotels. The neighborhood is a nice mix of residential and business. There is a small market area a few steps down from the hotel with fresh vegetables and flowers, several bakeries, a bank and a grocery store. There are elegant boutiques along the nearby main street and a number of good restaurants, including a friendly neighborhood place just down the block. I look forward to staying there again.

Room tip: The executive suites are in a newer wing. In the older main building, some of the rooms are quite spacious and elegant, while others are smaller, so it pays to enquire.

Just stopped there for a night with an early flight next day... What a bad surprise... even if the area is very good, this hotel is gloomy, cheesy and the room was a rabbit hutch without windows.
The + : location (but they are a lot of better option in the area with much more better value for money).
The - (everything else) :
- Hotel and lobby are really gloomy.... the bar looks like an abandonated train station buffet.
- Single room : this is a joke, a real one... RABBIT HUTCH with a "kind of window" with view on a wall (1 meter in front of the window). Shame to rent room like this. You feel like an animal in a box.
- furnitures fabric need urgent cleaning (at least). Suspects marks... disgusting.
- Bed is small, tired...
- Tv is the smaller i've seen for a very long time (even a computer display is bigger).
- Price you pay is different from Booking.com because of they own "system" (let's say that you'll pay 5/6% more).
- Staff is everything but friendly... long and boring check in.
- Noise is not an option, you can hear everything from the corridor and as the room was in front of the lift you can hear everthing from there too.
Would recomend to avoid this trap at all cost... so many options in bucharest now... should be a really bad idea to waist time and money in such a shack.

Room tip: Avoid this gloomy shack.... at all cost...

The hotel has been made out of an old private "villa". It is superbly located in the very center of Bucuresti, and yet very quiet, rooms are good, classic...wifi a disaster, even if they have cable, the whole internet is not working well. Personnel kind and helpful.Carpeting needs to be changed
