This is just another beautiful French style building in downtown Bucharest.
Unfortunately, it was not open to visitors while we visited (although we heard it's not that easy getting in due to increased security), so we admired the building from the outside.

Along the boulevard (Calea Victoriei) the presence of French Neo Classical Style was preserved very well by different buildings. The House of Savings (Palatul CEC) makes no exception.
Built in eclectic style, the palace has a glass and metal dome. The impressive entrance features an arch supported by two pairs of columns in a composite style. The four corners are decorated with gables and coats of arms and ending in Renaissance domes. It was designed by the French architect Paul Guttereau, a graduate of the "Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux-Arts" from Paris. Worth to mention that the construction was supervised by the Romanian architect Ion Socolescu.
Over the street the Palace is facing another impressive building ~ The National History Museum. For this you have just to cross the street. Enjoy!

Wasted our time in visiting this commercial building. It's a bank.

The building is nice but would hardly call it an attraction, but perhaps Bucharest is somewhat desperate to find some attractions.

There are some interesting places in the neighbourhood but we went to see an 'attraction' and were disappointed.

Bucharest struggles for tourist attractions so get out of Bucharest and visit the real country - Bucharest is mainly a dump.
