“Be awed by this imposing cathedral”
Reviewed 6 August 2014

We visited the cathedral and were overwhelmed by the beauty of the frescoes. The church was being visited by pilgrims and the reverence that we felt was enhanced by their piety. Definitely a vital part of Bucarest and Romania.

“Serene and Beautiful!”
Reviewed 26 July 2014

When we visited there were hardly any visitors to this incredibly, beautiful complex of ornate buildings. You can visit the church which is full of richly painted frescoes and an incredible golden altar. Make sure to find this sacred Romanian church and explore the grounds.

“Nice and beautiful”
Reviewed 24 July 2014

The cathedral and the patriarchal palace all forms a worth visit site. The church is both beautiful inside and out and the whole place is easily accessible with the metro trains. The best part about the place is that there is not much crowd around and you can enjoy the place to maximum at your own pace.

“Beautiful, yet seldome visited.”
Reviewed 11 July 2014

Surprisingly seldom visited by tourists, this is a wonderful complex, which includes a beautiful cathedral and the Patriarch palace.
The complex is easily accessible from the Unirii 1 metro station, although it includes a 10 minute climb up a small hill (nothing major, though).
The cathedral is beautiful inside out, and while like many other Romanian churches – it lacks almost any seats, it still has a certain charm to it.
Try to visit in the afternoon, just as the sun is about to set, as it creates some wonderful photo-ops of the buildings within the complex.

It is an refurbished gem, church hosting the relics of St. helen and her son Roman Emperor Constantine, beautiful icons, paintings on the walls...we were pilgrims in Bucharest and must say this was a truly nice surprise visit!
