“Beautiful art museum (collection and location)”

K. H. Zambaccian Museum
Ranked #65 of 302 things to do in Bucharest
Attraction details
Reviewed 19 March 2014

One of the most beautiful art galleries in Bucharest. The old building which is hosting the art gallery, together with the collection itself, are worth a view.
Besides that, the Herastrau Park is near.

This is a beautiful art museum founded in 1947 in the house of art collector Krikor H. Zambaccian (1889-1962). The museum was closed by the Ceausescu regime in 1977 and re-opened in 1992.

Collection containts the work of romanian artists: Corneliu Baba, Nicolae Grigorescu, Stefan Luchian, Theodor Pallady, Camil Ressu, Nicolae Tonitza, french artists: Pierre Bonnard, Paul Cézanne and the spanish Pablo Picasso.

The courtyard features a large sculpture by Romanian sculptor Oscar Han and works of Constantin Brâncusi, Cornel Medrea, Dimitrie Paciurea, and Frederic Storck.
