“Yes, positively we would stay again.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 May 2012

Yes, positively we would stay again. A wonderful, friendly hotel with an entergetic and helpful staff made our 2 night stay a good memory. In the heart of the city center, clean, refreshing and relaxing. All on the staff went out of their way to meet our needs and to do all they could to insure our stay was a success. Super breakfast. Highly recommended.

Recommended wholeheartedly, will return here next time I'm in Bucharest. The staff are unfailingly polite, efficient and hard-working. Very good buffet breakfast in the morning as well.

Best breakfast in Bucharest! Cozy hotel, very nice atmosphere, friendly staff, super clean and very comfortable rooms, perfect location in the very heart of Lipscani, but quiet during the night. Wonderful hotel!

Very clean small hotel and in the best location right in the vibrant old town with all the cafes. Good size room and a great value for the price. The breakfast was outstanding and high quality for a hotel of this size - croissants, fresh fruit, fresh loaf of crusty bread, meats & cheeses, boiled eggs, cereals and excellent made to order cappucinos. The cafe in front was excellent (you get a 10% discount if you're staying at the hotel) and always packed with people. If you need a ride to the airport, the hotel has a transport service so you don't need to deal with the taxis. The hotel seemed to be popular with business people too so it must satisfy them also. All the staff speak good English. We would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Room Tip: We asked for a quiet room so were on the backside of the hotel and it was indeed very quiet. The...

Nice hotel , very well situated, clean and large room full of light, free wifi
BUT when it comes to pay:

- the rate the room is given in euros but it is not possible to pay in this currency: the hotel convert the price in Lei, the rate to the lei the hotel charges is far more expensive than in the bank (4,5 versus 4,38), and of course we get a second commission by the bank as we are charged in Lei and not in euros...

So why does the hotel give the prices in a currency it does not accept? It should give the prices in the currency of the country, it would be much more honest to the customer...

-if you want get rid of your last leis paying off the bill, you CAN'T: they cannot make a split invoice, partly cash and partly visa card...they don't seem to have the correct software to do it, not mentioning they refuse to write it manually (like in the "old days") which would be a solution to please the customer already "pissed off" by the change rate.

This leaves the very bitter impression to have been cheated, not to mention the totally incompetent front desk employee overwhelmed by a customer who thinks he has not been correctly treated.

Never having been to Bucharest we were a little concerned about this hotel, but when we arrived all our concerns disappeared. The staff was wonderful. Our bags were taken to our room while we checked in and all our questions were anticipated before being asked with absolutely on the point being answered. The hotel is in the “Old Town” section of the city and on a pedestrian only street so your cab lets you off about 100 meters from the front door of the Hotel Rembrandt. We had a list of restaurants we were interested in trying and the hotel manager on duty ranked them in order of quality, price and nearness to the hotel. We did not realize that there was a restaurant next to the hotel that was owned by the same company and they did not try say we should try that restaurant, just the ones on our list. We had a lovely room on the top floor with a balcony. The views from the balcony were great. The only issue with our stay was we had to walk up to our room from the lift (about 10 steps). Wi-Fi, even on the top floor was good as was the bathroom and bed. This is a great boutique hotel that we will stay in the next time we are in Bucharest.

Room Tip: If you want a balcony, ask for the room at the very top floor.
