K+K Hotel Elisabeta

Reviewed 17 March 2012

I stayed here for a week in January, for business purposes.

The location is absolutely great, close to the main street of Bucharest, and also very close to the old city with lots of restaurants and shops.

However, there were riots in Bucharest during our stay, so we couldn't really walk around at nights.

The rooms were very clean, good standard beds. But the rooms are also quite small, and almost without windows (two very small windows).

Staff was very helpful, with recommendations for restaurants and ordering taxis. Much appreciated. And the breakfast buffé was OK. Nothing specal, but good enough.

So, all in all, a quite good experience. Nothing more than expeted from the rate and profile of the hotel. But a solid, clean and good place to stay.

Dear valued guest,

Thank you very much for taking the time to review your stay with us.
Your opinion is very important to us! Only through our customers direct feedback we can evaluate how we are doing and gain valuable feedback on our service!
I must say that I am very sadly surprised by your comment, especially because we have a very clear procedure at check out. In order to clarify any misunderstandings we do ask every guest at check out about the bar and minibar consumption and we do double check with the guest the accuracy of the products stated on the bill. Only after double checking with the guest all the information on the invoice and only with the guest’s permission we proceed with charging the card.
Kindly be so kind as to give us more details about this incident in order to precisely identify what exactly happened, when, and, if the case, why this procedure has not been followed.
I would very much appreciate your help on this matter.
I look forward to a quick clarification on this issue and I really hope we can get a second chance to prove our commitment to delivering high quality service for all our guests at K+K Hotel Elisabeta!

Sincerely,
Anca Cristea

Pros: GREAT position. No doubts at all. In the very city center, few steps away from the main attractions and some nice shopping mall, it is just beside the Intercontintal hotel, without having all the traffic noise around.
Very nice service: few people that are taking care of you even using personal means (one of the lady at the reception decided to call me a taxi using her mobile phone while waiting on the hotel landline for another taxi company...).
It's clean and it features all the things you might need either if you are travelling fro leisure or for business purposes.

Cons: although well equipped and nicely furbished, I had room 209 which is quite small. The buffet breakfast offers a wide range of food, but unfortunately the room where they serve it's very small and uncomfortable. Tables are really tiny and if it is two sharing the same table, there is no space to place left an Ipad.

Overall: great value for the rate we paid. Higly recommended!

This is a small hotel that doesn't look like much from the outside and in some ways a bit scary as the building beside them had a fire and is now boarded up. Having said that, it is quite nice inside with a very friendly and helpful staff. In fact, that is the biggest plus in this hotel is that it has a family run atmosphere.

Rooms are basic and a bit small but somewhat updated and very clean. Location is very good, just a few blocks from the old town.

After 2 weeks working in a orphanage, we wanted a little TLC. We were not disappointed. The staff was exceptional and the hotel was just what we wanted. It was sleek and modern and very comfortable. The location was close to everything, which allowed us to walk to many historic sights. We will definitely stay here on our next trip to Bjcharest.

Room was normal chain hotel type room. Nice bathroom. However 2 tiny windows that looked directly onto the next building, I was there on a sunny day and little natural light came into the room. On arrival room must have been 30c+, immediately turned off heating and opened windows, never used heating again although outside was minus. Wi-fi in room good. Parking is in street outside hotel. Hotel is in scruffy side street, but good location for old town. Hotel staff charming and helpful. Breakfast good. Food served in bar area was solid rather than gourmet. Perhaps a little on the expensive side for Bucharest, maybe you can find better value elsewhere.

The service in the hotel was very good indeed. I didn't have any complaints on that area. The room was not big nor small, just cosy for a single visitor. The thing I like about the hotel is it doesn't have any of the glitter and extra bits that don't add anything to the actual experience, except glitter.

The breakfast is nice, the Wednesday buffet is nice, the decor is clean and straightforward and none of it tacky.

The hotel is also smallish, so it's not full of people. I definitely prefer this over bigger hotels like Marriotts, inter-continentals and the like. Here you are a bit more an individual instead of just a customer of hundreds.

Room Tip: Use the metro and if you use the taxis, make sure they put on the meter before you take off.

Attended two major conferences here but have not stayed - nevertheless got the feel of the place and was shown the rooms that appeared very nice and have been to most parts of the hotel. Situated very centrally in Bucharest.

Clean modern environment, buffet style food that is exceptional and well over normal standards and caring attentive staff.

Only problem for me is that the bar is non smoking - apart from that, a superb hotel that is clearly well managed.
