“Wonderful Hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 July 2008

My husband and I and 2 of our daughters spent 3 great nights at Hotel Elisabeta. The staff was wonderful at check in. Very kind and it took about 3 minutes. Our room was ready....a suite with a seperate sitting area...the couch was already ready folded out and ready for our daughters to sleep on!
We loved the set up of the room and the decor. It was so quiet that you couldn't tell that you were located in a very busy place to be in Bucharest.
Breakfast was great every morning, and the woman that waited on us were so nice.
Our air conditioning wasn't as cold as we wanted the first evening, and I told the people at the front desk and it was immediately taken care of.
I love ice in my drinks, and every morning I would ask for ice at the bar or in the breakfast room and they were so nice in giving it to me every time I asked.
The intrernat was free and worked well. There are 2 computers for people to use in the lobby too.
We loved this hotel and we'll be back....

The staff were extremely helpful and courteous. They really couldn't do enough to help us.

The hotel and its facilities were excellent.

The bus from the airport drops you off in University Square, very close to the hotel. But be aware you have to negotiate several lanes of traffic or use the rundown underpass to get there (all the escalators are broken / removed - so it's no joke if you have heavy suitcases). The hotel is well located - very central (and thankfully the next door sex club is now closed down!). It's a very small hotel but the rooms are well furnished and very clean. We even got a balcony. Breakfast was good but the buffet area is so small it's difficult for more than one person to get to the food at one time. The bar area is really just an extension of the reception and doesn't look very inviting. Hardly saw anyone use it. We found all the staff helpful. Come out of the hotel - turn left - then left again at the bank and head over the main road to the "Living Room" bar for good cocktails and a not-too-smoky atmosphere just a couple of minutes away. Don't bother with the Count Dracula club - the food was poor and the count never appeared despite being advertised. The city's best restaurant, Balthazar, is a 10 minute walk from the hotel and is superb. Top food and service. Highly recommended.

it has the potential for being great. they just have very poor managers. unfortunately greedy and no respect for the customer. tha t is why i would never stay at a K&K again.
The hotel was under renovation at the time of check in. The room was not fully completed. The shower stall was not incased with the glass door. They did not install this as of yet. Regardless they put me in the room. They had a perfectly good room next door that appeared to be unoccupied. They had construction teams all over the hotel and the labor was from early morning into the late evening. so of course getting any kind of sleep was not easy.
the decor was really nice. small rooms not much room for two people.
the elevators are tiny. try one person averaing about 5'11" and 195lbs with two or three bags. that will consume all the room in the elevator.
the staff mean well i am sure but not great with english.
I had a breakfast which was not so bad......plenty of food with good service.
upon check out they did not see it normal to hand me a receipt. the hotel was booked online. they said the transaction was with the company that i booked it with. needless to say i was not impressed or appreciative of their business measure or ethic.
i was disappointed with the overall service and once again doubting the business nature and sense of bucharest. also there is no parking......construction occupied all the spaces......!
i highly recommend you stay away.

I stayed here on business for three nights after hearing good general reviews of K+K hotels and the "Elisabeta" in Bucharest certainly did not disappoint.

Located in the very centre of Bucharest and within easy walking distance of the old town, the K+K is ideally placed for a business or holiday stay in the city.

Many of the hotels in Bucharest are pretty awful and high-priced, offering rooms which are both basic and dated but the K+K is a welcome exception.

The K+K Bucharest offers good-sized rooms of Western European standards with nice fittings and which are clean and comfortable with a flat screen TV and choice of channels.

Reception is very welcoming and the staff helpful. The bar area is small but efficient.

Breakfast is buffet style and really good, offering a range of both hot and cold dishes with even sparkling wine available for those who want an extra "lift" in the morning!

Overall a highly recommended hotel and much better than the majority of hotels in Bucharest.

I loved this hotel! The breakfast was wonderful, service unparalleled! The rooms are great. The gym is great to get in a work out on your trip. They provide free internet, champagne breakfast, and trendy rooms. You need to go to La Mamas for dinner. There are two of these so be careful, you need to go to the one by the Hilton hotel.

I have traveled abroad to many places and although used to professional, polite, and capable hotel service, I was surprised by the outstanding quality of the staff at this particular hotel.

The personnel responded with a smile and great courtesy to any of our requests and solved any resonable demand very timely.
The moment you entered the hotel you noticed the positive, friendly, welcoming attitude of the staff.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Bucharest.
It is located in the heart of the city, but on a quiet street. If you book ahead of time, ask for rooms on the 6th or 7th floor, the lower levels do not have a view.
