“My favorite place in Belgrade”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 May 2014

I been going to this place since I was a little girl, my gradma used to take me there, she used to enjoy this place. It brings me beautiful memories each time I go. The service its amazing, and its not expensive, and they have amazing food! In november of 2013 my sister and I went almost everyday for dinner, the lady that works at the door was very nice and welcoming. I give this place 5*! Cant wait to go back there!

“Nice atmosphere - tourists' trap ;)”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 May 2014

Food is not bad, but did not knock me down as the night before at Panta Rei.
Why it's nice place? There's life music, place is busy, wast almost full on Tuesday night (early May) whilst other places were almost empty at the same time, including bars at Silicon Valley.

What's not so cool?
Staff barely speaks English, could not explain anything about any dish, besides "pork", "veal"... etc. Some dishes are local names hence it's hard to imagine what is what.
Due to this, I've ended up with same dish as the night before at Panta Rei hence can compare apple to apple... this was not even close to the taste at Panta Rei... the price paid at the end of evening was even higher than at Panta Rei even if there I've had additional soup and Kaymak.

Additionally, when trying to order butter for bread, I've got mustard... and it was difficult to get butter... they did not really understand English and only guessed that I've asked for butter.
I've asked for a tiny portion of butter and got served amount of butter for 5 people and got charged for this not saying that bread appeared on the bill too. This might be common in Belgrade, I don't know however it did not happen at Panta Rei.

Tip for Polish speakers - one of waiters I've heard speaks Polish.

btw. I have no relation to Panta Rei - I was just happy with everything there.

“Bohemian chic”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 April 2014

Ate here in November when visiting my daughter who was studying in Belgrade. This restaurant has a fantastic atmosphere with seating inside and out. Musicians play around the tables(several wandering troupes) but not looking for tips as a nuisance, they really add to the vibe. Great food, particularly the grilled meats and super traditional salads. Close to Greek cuisine but with an identity of its own. Much recommended.

“Not more than average”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 April 2014 via mobile

Completely average experience having lunch/dinner here. The traditional Serbian meat dish we had was very unimpressive compared to similar dishes in other Belgrade restaurants, served with some soft french fries. The portions were large, but the food was so boring that Im not sure if the big portions should be considered a plus. The side salat was simple, just some lettuce and a huge tomato cut in four pieces. The side bread was good though, and the service was a big plus. The price wasnt too bad either, and the location was very nice. Still, head for another place, such as Vuk, for a better Serbian food experience.
