Square Nine openede earlier in 2011, and will be competing with Hyatt, which is located in New Belgrade. Having stayed at both, I can shed some light on the differences.
Square Nine is much closer to a boutique hotel, with only 50 rooms. The rooms are as large, but due to being new they are much more modern, cool and also very functional. One of the highlights were the rooms actually.
Very good location with walking distance to shopping, Kalemegdam and restaurants.
The interior is a mix of beige and dark brown. Some places it is cold and empty, while in the lobby it is really beautiful and posh. But it is not a cosy, charming type of hotel. More cool, trendy and elegant.
The gym is small, very good equipment. But lacks a gym feeling in a way. No mats available.
Breakfast is another big difference. Here it is a la carte, while the other 5 star is buffet and more typical. More
