“Perfect Stopover”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 July 2012

I booked a Club Double Room here for one night using my Hyatt Gold Passport points. My husband and I have stayed here on and off on a regular basis over the past eight years as we work for the EU in a neighbouring country. We were en route to the UK driving across Europe so we needed somewhere to stop off and refresh (and also to watch the Opening Ceremony of the London 2012 Olympics!!!!).

I got an email a few days before we arrived to explain that the pool and some of the spa facilities were closed for refurbishment with an apology for an inconvenience. As we were just stopping off quickly overnight and would be watching the Olympics, this didn't affect our stay at all so I didn't think any more about it. However, when we checked in, we were told that the Club floor was also closed for refurbishment so we would not be able to make use of the lounge and breakfast facilities. As a result, we were upgraded to a junior suite and provided with a free breakfast in the main restaurant downstairs - a very generous compromise indeed!!

The suite was huge, two bathrooms, three televisions, three rooms - very comfortable, way too much room for one night, but it was fabulous just the same. We had drinks downstairs during the 'three-hour' happy hour from 17:00-20:00 before retiring to our room to order room service and watch the Opening Ceremony.

We ordered the burger, cold cuts board and a club sandwich, some water and diet cola - it all arrived quickly and was hot and fresh. My husband is a bit of a room-service burger aficionado and confirmed that the burger was 'up there' with the best of them.

The night passed too quickly - the sleep quality in Hyatt is always superb and the black out curtains work a treat - sometimes too well when you have to get up early the following morning to drive to Bratislava!!

The breakfast was excellent and ranks as one of the best out of our experience of staying in Hyatt hotels - everything was fresh and, most pleasantly, non-greasy. The coffee has improved since I commented on this during one of our previous stays and overall it was a thoroughly pleasant and enjoyable, albeit short, stay. We will definitely be back.

Hard to complain about a Hyatt. Typically, everything works and you won't remember the place. I do have a few pet peeves about this one. They charge for EVERYTHING and its way over the top. An ordinary European breakfast will cost you $28.00, and one should not complain. Ok, I agree, but a third world country business center (seriously ink jet printer, no tables, no staff) and they charge 30 cents a page for printing. Give me a break. Any meal on room service will start somewhere around 25 dollars and up. Finally, in the bad news department, located in the middle of a business district, across the river from Belgrade proper. If it weren't for the businesses, you would think you were at the warehouse district outside Frankfurt airport.

As to the good news. World class gym, spa. Includes a real swimming pool. Staff is great in the hotel, always trying to be helpful but not get in your way. Oh, by the way, forget your room key because you left it in the "air conditioner" slot, forget housekeeping opening the door, a complete no no. Tea Room is a nice place to hang out. Excellent staff, modest choices, prices high, but still a nice place to hang out.

Returning to Belgrade in a week. Return to Hyatt? Nope. Going to stay downtown where you can walk the streets, check out the coffee shops, etc. But in the end, its a Hyatt, so reliability is there. Oh by the way, really hose you on internet access.

Best

Room Tip: rooms are basically the same. Standard Hyatt

I am now with my family staying at this hotel, and my first impression was that people working at the hotel are a bit over direct in communicating with guests. The guy at the enterance took my car keys in a rather unpleasent manner, then got into my car to take my laguage while a girl standing and giving him instructions to take everything from the car while i didn't even have the time to think about what i want to be braught to the room. Today someone knocked at the door to check the fridge (whether we used some drinks), and my question is why wasn't it done during the room cleaning, or tomorrow, while we're checking out? The spa is rather small and simple, only a whirpool and a small swimming pool, but causy. There are nice iceteas free of charge. The breakfast was very nice, but it's weird that we received a check to sign even thaugh the breakfast is included in the price. They charge for the internet, only 30min is free of charge. No tooth brush and tooth paste, and we forgot ours...The enterior is nice, confortable room. Wonderful bathroom with a large bath. Nice touch with bathglove for kids, as well as soap and shampoo.

I attended a congress in July and spent four nights at the hotel. I can strongly recommend the hotel, very proessional and helpful staff, nice bar and good resturant. The rooms are spacious and well equipped.

This is consistently one of the best business hotels i have stayed in anywhere. It is not the newest but is spotless, well maintained and the staff and service are fantastic.

I spent a week in October. The hotel is very luxury, with very big rooms with very big bathrooms and very big windows. The breakfast is excellent with a good choice of freshly squeezed juices. The only downside of the hotel is location. It's a 25 minute walk to the center of the city. But there is a good shapping mall "USCE" nearby.
My big bed was very comfortable with a choice of pillows. They have a wonderful sauna and a swimming pool free for guests of the hotel. Nice.
